I don't blame Mythic for releasing the game before WotLK and Moria.
But for the love of god, stop being brainless fanbois trying to defend the game like someone is beating your young brother with a shovel.
We are in 2008 and the game didn't have a damn NEW MAIL icon! It had to be patched post release in patch 1.0.3

The game still doesn't have:
I could go on and on but its pointless.
All this WOW was also unfinished at release talk is crap and not relevant. WAR has to compete with LOTRO and WOW in today's state not their release state.

Why did you make this post? Especially if this is your sig.
All you have to do is stop subscribing to a game you do not like.
You sound young...
Just... go somewhere else. Perhaps support a game that you like by posting praises or comments in those forums.
Quit thumping your bible... we don't want your preaching here.
Self knowledge would help here, if any post sounded "young" it's yours
1. Why did I make that post? Because its a forum where people share their views with the community. I simply sharied my pain of reading through fanboi post saying how WOW was this and that while this game is dying.
2. I did not mention anything about my subscription. You don't share my view so you want me gone?
3. I am middle aged.
4. "We don't want..." Who is we? Are you so self centered and important that you refer to yourself as WE?
I will probably leave sooner rather than later but I will tell you one thing: You can't PVP on your own, Mr. WE.

Never argue with idiots. They are immune to logic.
3. Is a personal preference and to be honest I could careless about
4. This was intentional they don't want people focused on the money grind..of course they should of made it possible to donate all money to the guild for keeps but whatever
I agree with the rest...when I got a look at the AH i was surprised at how shoddy it is and STILL is. The fact Item linking isn't in amazes me even EQ1 has it.
None of these issues are deal breakers...the fact no one plays the central core of the game because of scenarios is the deal breaker for me.
I wont bash war because I do like the game...but they're driving me away with the bored to death scenario grinding just to get any pvp.
All this whining is pointless. The game is great. We went back to WoW Lich King and that lasted all of 48 hours. We don;t see ourselves going anywhere for a loooong time to come.
Sinister Savant MMORPG Community
The only thing that was not accounted for imo was the communication and the fact that they had too many servers. These two things are killing the game.
The small stuff is worthless anyway. (mail icon? this is a serious concern?) The game had teeth from birth when it comes to pvp and questing.
Most things that are worth getting are bind on p/u anyway so the auction house is an after-thought. They didn't promise an active economy, they promised pvp from level 1 and the ability to progress by several different means.
They have some distance between them and the "polished" title being the finish line, but I'd hardly say this game wasn't ready for release. Their strategy should have been to show people the largest and most active populations possible before reducing servers to spilling their population into other servers. They should have shown the gamers still questioning whether or not they should purchase the game a look at the initial servers being at max capacity.
Their implementation team needs to be fired, but the developers did a great job, and are continuing to improve on the small stuff.
The game probably could have used another month or so, but there are problems that aren't going to come up until launch. The player base is always smarter than the dev team gives them credit for and will inevitably find work-arounds and exploits, the server load and big battles will cause problems that weren't forseen and game mechanics will be used in a way that wasn't intended. They had to launch it sometime and I think it went incredibly smoothly all in all.
None of these things are gamebreaking and the game had the smoothest mmorpg release so far.
IMO the biggest problem is prolly the class and server imbalance....but even that will get fixed with time and i have high hopes for the two new classes fixing some of that.
What part of the Auction House search isn't working? It's not the most intuitive interface but once you figure it out it seems to work for me.
Also Mythic never intended for WAR to have an extensive Crafting system. I like that you just make potions or minor enhancements - I always hated timesink Crafting in games which made it important enough that you were at a large disadvantage (economic or tactical) unless you spent time doing the tedious Crafting mechanics. I know some people really enjoy Crafting but they were never meant to be a target for WAR, not from the very beginning.
The other points such as the mail system and chat are valid the game was stable for the most part upon launch and the servers didn't die horribly. Mythic probably decided to dedicate more resources to that and worry about the details later. Sure it would have been nicer to have everthing in the game, but they decided to focus on the important parts and get the game out.

You can and did dismiss everything as cosmetics, doesn't bother me, I don't care, blah blah, smoothest MMO release so far. However the CTD I just experienced begs to differ.
Regardless, the point of my post is that this game has lots of problems and customers will judge it by how it stands compared to the other games in the market in their CURRENT state.
You love the game and its good news because you are a paying customer. But in order for any MMO to be succesful and really grow it needs a large customer base. With so many people living I am just afraid EA will shut the game down. Dismissing problems instead of fixing them will not bring people back.

I agree that the game cannot sufer to be on the wrong end of the learning curve in the first 6 months, but you are taking away from what is a good game some minor challenges.
Item Linking -
Why is this so important? Most of the decent gear is BOE/BOP. You want to make people jealous, just walk into a PQ at the very end and get a decent loot roll. Otherwise this is a rather useless feature.
Auction house Search -
Not sure what issue you are having here. I haven't used the auction house all that much save for to compare my gear versus whats on the market. I had 0 problems finding what I needed. If there is something specific you are looking for and not seeing i'd like to know in case I have the same problem in the future.
Synched Animations -
Are you referring to animations flowing from one attack to another? Or the fact that one special could net you 2-3 different animations? I'd agree if you had a problem with the response time on some abilities and global cooldowns for unrelated specials (i.e why are buffs and attacks on the same cooldown?), but I don't see the problem here as it relates to release date, it's not bugged, it needs to be adjusted.
Economy -
This game is based around war as a driving and motivating factor in all quests unless you're a dwarf fighting for beer. Money isn't neccessary because everyone is pretty much a soldier and the environment does not allow for an economy. Your captial city could be raided; how much money you have in the bank isn't a top concern of the war bosses. There should be something war related that should take more of an investment.
Decent Crafting System -
WAR is setup perfectly to have a good and useful crafting system. You could even tie it into the war and the fight over precious resources (i.e. taking stone claw keep will allow you access to rich pure waters from the frozen mountains for apothecary; or dwarven keeps giving access to mines rich with pure weapons grade metals that become more potent the deeper you venture to gather the resources). But the simple truth is that they never said there'd be crafting that would be ingame.
In all I partially agree, that there could be more in the game. What i can't agree on is that there was SUPPOSED to be more at launch. There simply wasn't (save for the missing professions and zones)......
I totally agree with OP. They launched this game with no general chat!!! I'm hard pressed to make an analogy for how stupid that was....maybe something like launching a FPS and forgeting to add the guns...
------------------------------
"Everything is awesome. Fundamentally."
The game can be fun at times but its still like playing an early version of a beta with a ton of bugs still.
Im a little tired of people using the fact that since the game is based on war it shouldnt have a good economy/ crafting system or any significant amount of emotes its not like these guys sat in a room and decided "hey to make the game more like war lets make a shitty economy where a money inst worth a damn to anyone."
The developers didn't give more time into making a good crafting economy because they didn't want to. Not saying laziness but it doesn't feel like they gave any effort into it at all. So in defense they claimed that they wanted to focus on making an amazing combat experience.
That would be awesome if the combat was balanced and interesting ( maybe i'm just coming from my Chosen but i am not that impressed with the combat system).
Back to my original point war is not a valid excuse to get rid of a stable economy in the game. One of the main reasons people go to war is for economic reasons its not like as soon as *enter country name* goes to war they become a bunch of mindless killing zombies who show no tradeskills(crafting) emotion(emotes) or start using there money as ammunition for the battle(economy).
It seems like there is no Rpg left in the mmoRpg's anymore i feel more accomplished getting rupees in Zelda then getting gold in this game.
RL countries don't use undead minions and unholy magic to fight (except maybe Ukrainians).
Money doesn't matter when you are on the brink of oblivion. That is the aura the game is supposed to give off. If you have a great deal of trouble working within this theory then either one of two things is going on:
The developers failed miserably; or you entered the game with expectations outside of what was advertised.
Complain about scenarios vs. RVR. Complain about response times on specials. Complain about unreasonable global cooldowns. Complain about linear content with skill based pvp being a major faux pas. Complain about dps classes being the only well implemented classes in the game (sorc and bright wizard both run the roost).
But please for the love of god don't complain about the setting of the game. It dictates why some things are the way that they are.
No one cares about money when their crops are burning. I will agree 100% though that crafting is about as easy to justify as the combat system.
