So I tried AION today...

jaharjahar Member Posts: 234

So I was headed to the local Westerner bar this evening, and on my way up, I see a big cardboard cutout for AION. Noramlly, I wouldn't look into it, but since I was with a gyopo buddy of mine, who could translate, I figured I'd go check it out. So we go  into the pc bang, i co to a nice widescreen comp, and decide to laod it up. Up comes a login screen, but the guy said it was free so i start making an account(with my firend's help). It comes to the point where I need a Korean social insurancce number, but my pal is a citizen so we are all good. I make the account, log in, and there's some other nonsense. We couldn't figure it out, but the clerk helps us, and my buddy just has to throw in his cell number.  But, alas, I'm not destined to get the scoop on the game for you all. the cell number is used to verify the social insurance number, and his phone is in his cousin's name. DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOookkkeyy..You Koreans sure do got some strange rules to make online accounts. We dirty westerners only need a name and email account most of the time. What is a gyopo buddy btw?

Is that 'gyopo' the same type of word the Japanese have like "gaijin' for strangers or nicer?  :)

No gyopo is a someone of Korean descent born outside the country, a gaijin is a foreigner normally with no Japanese ancestry.

yeah, I'd buy that for a dollar.

It's a shame he couldn't get on though. It's like having the holy grail inches from your finger tips only to reach out and have your fingers fall off.

So your topic says "I tried out Aion today...." and yet you didn't. You couldn't make an account...so really...why wasn't your post header " I tried to make an Aion ACCOUNT today." That would make more sence.

  • jaharjahar Member Posts: 234

Haha, I've never seen "Need for Speed", and I know it because I've been in Korea (with their godforsaken time zone) for a year and a half, and like half of my friends are Korean-American(and Canadian).  But seriously, I hagte being this close to the game, but not being able to play it.. its even free!! Well, there is the charge for the pc room, but still..

  • methoskmethosk Member Posts: 57
