What are the main objective(s)?

in Darkfall

Ok, I like the look of this game.

I've done some reading-p on it but can someone outline the main objective(s)

In WoW, etc you play to get the best kit and brag that you've flattened a dungeon boss or two. Please God, tell me Darkfall can offer something better than this carrot-on-a-pixellated-stick crap!

In newer game like WAR and AoC, err I don't know what the point of those games is tbh. I assume WAR is all about holding a keep and AoC is about playing for more than 5 minutes without the game crashing. Having played both, I still know or care anymore.

    There are no predefined main objectives, this is what in part makes it a sandbox game.  Having no developer made objectives is the main attraction of this game.

    People will make their own objectives and these will change over time.  Examples might be building a large guild city, making a ship to go exploring in, defeating a particular powerful mob, becoming a well know crafter.

    Personally I intend on help building a guild and alliance that regularly expands its territory and has fun on a nightly basis.

    As well as being part of a kick ass cavalry wedge!

    Edit: haha, just kidding.. In a game like Darkfall I would have my fun by being a jack of all trades...just fooling around with some crafting...getting PK'd...doing some mob-crushing...and loving every minute of it :)

    The objective is to have fun, and you make your own objectives and goals.

    You could not be more incorrect. I am certain the object of the game is to get a fast ship, run out the guns and blow apart any scurvy dog that crosses your path, then take their booty.

    Darkfall: It's all about the booty.

    keep in mind, blizzard does feed the horse (you eventually do get the best loots) so the carrot doesnt stay in front of you forever

    that said, it is a good expression because thats exactly how they do it

    but it works.. and guess what.. thats what people want! thats what the majority of people want

    and in a world where each invividual makes their own decision for themselves, thats going to be the most popular
