Technically Aion is released so I'm gonna go for that one. I'm not a big fan of the style of art in Aion, but its simply the highest quality and most detailed graphics I have seen in an MMOG.
No other MMO has this level of fideility, there is a ton of work put in to the art assets of this game.

Eve Online I just find the game very beautiful. There are not many objects but some are really really well-done. The details are stunning at times.
Guild Wars The artists are really god-like, and the graphics quality the devs managed to provide with such a lightweight engine are something to be proud of.
About Age of Conan: I think it's really overrated. Artistically I give it a 1/10.
AoC isn't over-rated what so ever. If you really think artistically/art direction wise it's 1/10 you've never played it or simply never played it past the first few lvls (the Tortage experience.) It has by a long shot the most beautiful design, the best looking cities, the most stunning vistas, and is bar none the best looking MMOG out there in terms of graphical quality and art direction. If you get the chance to see it on Dx10 (which is on the test server at the moment,) it is simply stunning.
No matter what you might think of the rest of the game, whether you haven't played it since it's poor release, or never have at all, or are a current player, artistically and graphically there are none that surpass it. Mind to see it in it's full glory requires quite the powerful machine, especially in Dx10.
I want to say Aion but I'll wait until I can play it in English so for now it's Age of Conan hands down. It managed to avoid the uncanny valley effect which most of the games out there suffer from.
Its environments are damn great too.
LoTRO comes in 2nd for me at the moment. Because of the environments and effects, other than that I can't get past how shit looking/moving the characters are.
AoC is technically the best and most advanced. But artistically Lotro beats it easily. The game world is simply breath taking in Lotro and you can spend a lot of time just admiring the beauty of the world they have created.
The problem with the advanced graphics in AoC is that they didnt really use it to create something spectacular to look at. Its just more and more dreary rocks as if they wanted to show the world how Norway looks in the winter. And then you are caged into small game areas so you never really feel like you are in a game 'world' each mini zone just feel like some small artificial area without breath or room or grandness.
In Lotro you can see the designers has dreamed up the world from Tolkiens writing and they have worked hard to give you the same sense of wonder when entering the world that you get from reading his works. They dont use cheap tricks like extreme places and weirdness, they just use beauty.
"You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill 10 pigs."
I prefer LoTRO's graphics over VG and AoC's. * Never played Eve though because spaceships make me cringe.
Well, to be honest, I turned up the Digital Vibrance option on my Nvidia card- to like 23%. Then, LoTRO's world became the most breathtaking MMO I have played. Initially, the colors were too muted for my tastes and that tweak made the colors richer and GORGEOUS!. If I turned it to 40%- OMG the LoTRO world looked exactly like WoW's comic-book world LOL!
Turbine's game engine is much better too. Much more bang for your buck in FPS and textures.

I can see how you are working this, but the designers of AoC dreamed up the world of Conan to a T. The world of Conan is a dark and dreary place, and the artists that did that made it perfect for the world. Everything artistic in AoC is perfectly depicted in its correct place. It doesn't have to be bright, because the world of Conan was not bright at all. They wanted you to feel the desolace and despair.

I personally think AoC's graphics suck big time. That’s not to say that the still shots or even some of the motion shots aren’t beautiful. My complaint has to do with the graphics engine as a whole. AoC has a high polygon count however the graphics engine as an old design and hence the world is extremely segmented with lots of invisible walls unnatural boundaries. By contrast a game like WoW with its lower polygon count has a far more advanced seamless world. It’s hard for me to look at pure visuals completely in isolation of the rest of the graphics engine because it has so much to do with the overall quality of the game.

best graphics for a game out ATM is AOC.

Well, first of all it looks silly when I post bigger pictures in a thread.
Second of all, I have a photobucket account and the charge for bigger pictures.
Besides you get the general idea how the game looks by that shot.
What has putting the settings on max to do with posting a bigger picture?
AoC:s game engine might be technically impressive but I don't think that they made it as good as it could be.
I think that Lineage II:s characters with the Unreal 2 game engine actually looks better than AoC:s.
It really comes down to the artists handling the game engine.

I think AOC based on pure graphics detail.... Whether you like the art style or not this is the best!
lmfao.. haha
LMAO i second that as well..................
The Chronicles of Spellborn.
Eve Online

Waiting for: GW2
*thumbs up*: GW, Eve(, WoW)
*thumbs down*: MO, GA, FE
Ditto.
Star Wars Galaxies
I'd say AoC is best graphics wise but for overall graphics and gameplay mix i'm sticking with SWG.

LoTRO has amazing landscapes, more immersive then in AoC.
On second place I put EVE Online
AION, Lineage 2
