I left for the following reasons:
- Morale Abilities wouldn't fire a lot of the time, especially when you really needed them
- PQ's were dead, rarely could I find a group for them
- Scenarios were the main way people leveled
- Healers were OPed in PvP
- Helmet Graphics and Capes, after turned off, would reappear after zoning
- View distance was just horrible
- Lag was bad sometimes in Scenarios and almost all the time in open rvr with more than 2 groups in the same area.
I'm really interested in trying out the Blackguard and KoTBS, but I won't return until the above things have been fixed. I'm sure I've forgotten some other reasons why I left, but I guess they weren't that important if I don't remember them now. The above is what I remember after playing WAR for 5 weeks. There's been a few major patches since I left and some minor ones.
Thanks for answering my thread.

Honestly Yes. Ever since the latest patch I have had no problems finding RVR or it finding me, it has been VERY active. Also it seems people are playing more and the subs have increased somewhat as well. As far as PQs, I have been finding groups each time I have gone out and people are routinely searching for more people in chat. Pick an active server and I think you will be very pleasantly surprised with the changes to the game and all the player action. There are now 18 servers with at least med/med. I play on Praag and the server is very active, but there are servers listed that hit high and full, so I am sure the activity there is even greater.
Hope this helps and if you come back, let me know what you think.
Moral abililties appear to be firing more reliably.
I'm not sure that PQ are particularly active, but I have found people usually call out in regional chat when they are doing them. Anyway with the appearence of oRvR and loot chest for taking keeps, they are less important now (and you can do the easy ones with just a couple of players, and the difficulty and number needed appear on the map now too).
Scenario are still popular, they're fun. However, there is oRvR now too.
Hmm, I'm not sure healers were that overpowered, either you can heal the group, or yourself, however they were not the easy kills of other games I have played.
Graphic bug as been fixed accord to the patch notes I think, although I can't conclusively say I've tested this.
Seem to be improved textures, I'm sure I'm not imagining it, the graphic appear a little more refined..
Lag has never been a particular problem for me, although some of these new big battles is causing me some problems. Going to try turning off combat logging. However, if your system was stuggling before, I doubt the recent tweek is going to make a major difference to performance.
My missus loves the Black Guard, she just hates everything
For the PQ issue - They now have easy mode ones which can be done with 2-3 players which I find help with the bigger ones, form a small group at the easy one then gather people as you move to the bigger ones.

PQ with 2-3 people? Whats that? The whole population of the server? The signs should be enough to convince you to stay away for good. Look over others posts that have returned only to leave again. The post valid reasons.
The most annoying things seem to have been taken care of. I'd be interested in giving this game another go, but as I went to reup my account, I came across all the downtimes happening lately and the patch releasing today.
I had flashbacks to the first month of sporadic downtimes and decided against reupping. I guess I'll finish out WoTLK and then give it another look; that is if DF bombs.

So because a game patches / updates content your not going to resub? Nice. They always have hot fixes, patches, and content updates..whats the problem yo? I mean hell they'll be patching tomorrow too but its only a content patch for the Christmas Live Event Keg's End. Even WoW patches and like WoW WAR they both patch in the mornings when the servers are slow. Honestly what the deal? I dont think I've ever lost any WAR game time during prime time hours.
Seriously tard reason to not reup atleast come up with a good one like "I dont want to RVR for gear" or "I like my PVE raiding schedule in WoW better"
Like every MMO on the planet they always tell us when they're going to have a morning of down times. And like Every MMO when its new its rather frequent. And like every MMO on the planet they try to minimize sporadic patching / hot fixing unless its important / needed.
Did I also mention that I like a good community; like that of old DAoC? Well, you are being very rude. If you don't like what I said in MY thread, then don't respond. Anyways, WoW doesn't patch several days in a row and rarely goes past 11am the one time a week they do update. They also update the game with content and events during their regular scheduled maintenance, unlike WAR, where they instead do it the next day. Maybe it doesn't aggravate you to have the game down so much, but it does me and at least respect that.
Like you said, Mythic doesn't take down the servers unless it's important or needed. But that says something about the games condition if it needs to be taken down so often, doesn't it?
Put yourself in my shoes. I'm considering spending money to reup, but left due to bad experiences as you can see if you read my OP. Anyone wise with their money will be skeptical.

Good plan, imho. Electriceye answered your points, as I would.
In this moment, my main concern is ORvR: stability on Fortress battles (they seem to be working on it and it's improving but still not good enouhg... it still crash... but that's a rank 40 probblem and I think they should had it fixed before you are in one of that battles... unless you 40 already) and they still, imho, didnt achieve to give enough incentives to defend stuff in ORvR.
I hardly do scenarios at T4 (just when we trying to flip a zone) and I dont like the PvE raids much so I spend most of my time in ORvR or leveling alts.
I think the plan of first finishing ou WoTLK and then decide if retying WAR or DFO, is a good one. Maybe DFO ends up being all it's promised to be. If not, WAR may entertained you for a while until some more of your taste is released.
About the community. If you retry the game, may I advice Pheonix Throne or Ostermark. They seem to had gotten most of the former Tintagel people (Nimue, Percival and Guinevere). I play destro at PT and order at Oster. The population is quite balanced too.
In any case, I hope you have fun!

wow patch Tuesdays were a fiasco. The most annoying, troubling patcher of any MMO I have ever played. I remember back in the day when I still played wow and would come home from work on Tues night and would have to spend all this time with patching and loading and reconfiguring settings. I always felt like I was paying for 4 days each month where I couldnt play most of the day. Anyways it was just one of the many negatives I found to playing wow and one of the many reasons I quit. In comparison, WAR patching has been smooth and painless. In fact, every other MMO has been that day for me, except of course wow. Also, hands down, wow community was the WORST. I could go on with several stories, but honeslty what is the point ? anyone who has played wow, knows their community is horrid.
My curiosity got the best of me and I reupped and went back to my old server, Phoenix Throne. The community was very friendly, and OMG was ORvR busy. I just logged off a few minutes ago and was playing for a good 2-3 hours. My first level flew by quick, because I did a scenario. Then I found out that people won't look down on you if you join an ORvR warband as a lvl 2, so I spent the remainder of my night doing that.
My complaints as of right now is about the xp gain in ORvR and what people were calling "hitching." I'm lvl 3 right now and my RR has been maxed out at 3 for a while now. That means I gained an average of 1 lvl per hour. That's just sad, especially with the amount of action that I was in. There were around 2 full warbands on the Alliance side and we met some good resistance, so logic tells me I should have shot up in levels. If I was worried about leveling, I'd be better off PvEing. Since I play WoTLK, I'm not that worried about leveling and am able to enjoy the ORvR for what it is in WAR. I would get fast, yet frequent lag spikes during my gameplay and I mentioned it over chat, telling them that changing the graphics settings didn't make a difference. They said it's probably hitching from the buffs being cast.
These were the lag problems I spoke of that existed at launch that eventually wore down on me after 5 weeks along with everything else. I really didn't find anything else wrong though. I hope they fix hitching soon, because it really screws with combat. There's nothing I can really do about my machine either. I built it to run AOC without a problem and it did, so I'm surprised WAR has problems. Apparently I'm not the only one though. Anyways, nice talking with people on these forums.
Now I need to find a guild of like-minded people. I do like to RP and I do like some good group PvE, but I doubt I'll find much of either in this game. Maybe I'll check out warhammer alliance.

2-3 people per server eh?
Hmm it would seem that atleast 100 were running around fighting in ostland last night around 1am on my server (dark cragg) fighting for the keep but then I again, I just play the game and not bitch in forums so you must be correct.
i took a break and reupped for 6 months when 1.1 came out... SOOOOOOOO glad i did... game is firing on all cylinders right now and has been a heck of a lot of fun... This will definatley due until Aion comes out or darkfall takes off and is what its promised to be...
If not i will definatley be playing WAR for a long time... just pure fun ORvR.
