Mythic has more or less stopped mentioning it. I have not heard anything new lately and like you I'm waiting on it. My hope however is dwindling especially when I look at the population reports on the herald.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Yes Mythic seems more interested in its road trips, raising taxes, answering dumb questions regarding the mechanics of atlantis and putting more sidestories into the DAoC. After three or four weeks of nothing to say, its starting to look like it isn't going to happen. No news anywhere on Origins, at least nothing recent.
My guess is Jacobs wants zero distraction away from WAR by his own employees. So until WAR subscriptions begin to fall there will be no Origins server.Of course by then DAOC may have no pulse.

the total silence thing is just braking off more people from trying it i think. Silence is not a good way to handle a community, GOA tried it, dont work at all.
I think that most people would probably choose to play Warhammer over the new DAOC server now. I'd be game for both but if I had to choose between either it'd be Warhammer. I don't even have windows at the moment though, wishing that WAR worked in WINE right now. DAOC has been a wonderful game though.

Warhammer is crap. I was looking forward to the Origins server and it's pretty stupid to make announcements that they are definitely releasing Origins before the end of the year, which they did, and then not follow thru. It just makes Mythic look inept.

I have tried warhammmer and think it is a plastic game.... its too linear for me. and there arent any penalties for dying, no reward from PvP...its all-together pointless to PvP. I will wait for Darkfall, since the Origins server seems to be put off
I would chose to play DAOC over Warhammer if they would revamp DAOC and add a few new features to draw back alot of people... I like daoc alot better then warhammer, I think warhammer is shallow and bland all it really has is pvp instances and here and there rvr. DAOC is just a all around better game.
war doesnt even compare with daoc - ive quit war feeling dreadfully disppointed now and dont feel i will ever pick up again , daoc on the other hand keeps calling me back every few months - just needs a few more players

I am not sure if the pop is high enough yet, but I have noticed an increase in players. The largest cluster seems to have picked up an extra 200 players during their peak hours from where it was a month ago. The other clusters have also seen some increase as well. So things are improving slightly.

I'm one of those people who'd pick DAoC over WAR.

I'd drop WAR in a flash for a DAOC Origins server, and probably play it longer.
