Yep, you see the title, PvP, thats what games are all about.
What I have done:
WoW and GW.
I've played WoW for 6months fully PvP almost, didn't got bored, but WoW is going downhill, especially with WotLK.
I still play GW, just for some breaks when I'm not doing something else.
GW is nice and all, hanging around with people on Ventrilo, but it's getting a bit 'repeatetive?'.
So, gimme your games and tell me what makes the game so special with PvP.

Honestly the only intense PVP you're going to get is in an MMOFPS.
If it has to be free go to archlord. They have hardcore pvp servers. It's a grind game but not bad for what it is.

I found the cutesy little Trickster to have surprisingly good PvP. Although I'm sure this is the exact opposite of a game you're looking for.
Then I'd have to say runescape...
