Yes I know that they haven't been announced yet. And of course we know that jedi will be in this game. But what would you most look forward to playing in this game if it were available?
For me it's Bounty Hunter. I was a Bounty Hunter in SWG for three years. It's always been my favorite characters in Star Wars so if the option is available, that will be me.
Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

The most played clases would most likely be BH and Jedi, I think if possible I would try all classes at least once.
extremely way too early to deal with this.
it will pretty much be jedi dominated imo ofc sith and jedi numbers will probably be equal. personally id like to see a class system like the pre cu swg
I would like to see the number of options available, but no mater what, people will tend to stick to certain professions more then others, hence the NGE. The concept was sound, but the execution was off because they cut down the amount of skill variation and customization people enjoyed.
They should have cut the professions, kept the titles and kept most of the abilities. People will play a certain skill set more than others in any mmo, but having the ability to make your character different then others is always a plus. Not everyone cared about making camps, but I did. When I got sick of it I would drop camping, and retrain in something else. This is what is needed in TOR to keep things interesting.
I hope there is some sort of combat medic class. Something that can heal, throw out poisons and diseases, revive and have supporting fire. I might try everything with the way they are talking about every class having a different storyline. But I'll always go back to that combat medic as my main.
In the original SWG, my 'toon was an "earned" Dark Jedi, pre-NGE, before Jedi was a starter-profession (what a kick-in-the-face that was).
So I am very much looking forward to going Sith.
I also, very much, enjoyed Creature-Handler, Ranger, and Rifleman in the pre-NGE, pre-CU time of SWG. So if available I'd love to give those a try as well.
Regardless of what professions are available. I'm just hoping for a true "Star Warsy" experience. Based on how well Bioware did with KOTOR, I have some faith that they'll get it right.
Fingers-crossed,

What the heck is a Teras Kasi?
A commando or Special Forces type.....something different from what i did in SWG .....IF sony doesnt get it...

Jedi Vs. Teräs Käsi Master
Well being as I hate Archetypal systems I hope they avoid that concept completely and develop a free form advancement system that allows us to have greater freedom. Not all, and in fact very few Star Wars characters are only good at one thing and consequently are pigeon holed into one role.
Unlikely perhaps... But that is what I'd hope for anyway.
My main concern is the combat system though. I really disliked the KOTOR I-II system. It was clunky and very immersion breaking to me. No force leaping, spins, summersaults etc, just click and wait.
If they want to do it right, take a page from titles like Jedi Academy and allow some actual interactivity. That's a title made of win
Teras Kasi was oe of the classes that was in SWG pre CU and CU days. It was a bad ass class I might add also , they were like experts in hand to hand combat kind of like the Handmaiden was on KOTOR 2 she was an Echani warrior.
Sith is always cool, but Teras Kasi would be great too.
PLAYING: NOTHING!!!
PLAYED:FFXI, LotRO, AoC, WAR, DDO, Megaten, Wurm, Rohan, Mabinogi, RoM
WAITING FOR: Dust 514
ill go dark sith overlord with 6 th gen. lightsaber filled with the kit's ferocity color crystal.with like 1 force cost and master defender as well.and the saber will have 5 legendary krayt pearls that add 100 of damage and +50 a peice per pearl in force regen.so pretty much the exact opposite from what i really was in swg my entire career:)
light side jedi with a saber that hit as hard as a durni who's lair is bieng attacked.
A Melee Stacker with Master Brawler so I can have lunge 2 and then most of TKA so I can meditate for the hp buff. I will stack some defense from fencer and master polearm and dabble in swordsman.
Smuggler, and if nothing close to that Jedi.
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.
If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

I highly doubt a class like the tera kasi to be playable... but if they were, I certainly would take something like that over a lightsaber wielder.
In the most likely case they are not available (or any sort of unarmed variant that actually stands a chance in combat), I'm going to play as a sith.
If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
Teras Kasi?..... Don't get your hopes up, i'm pretty sure that won't happen.
Hopefully we won't be choosing one class exclusively, and we will be able to progress into different areas of speciality other than just Commando, Bounty Hunter, Jedi, Sith.
Maybe you wan't to be a Bounty Hunter who builds/engineers his own droids, or perhaps you would like to be Commando who is also a capable Medic. Players should be open to many varieties of specialization, and not forced to follow a set path throughout the game.
Uniqueness = Greatness for an MMO.
When everyone looks the same and has the same abilities, it gets old very fast.
However, I don't see anything wrong with having to pick a general direction when you create your character. As long as you can branch off into other areas as you progress throughout the game.
As for the poll, I will go ahead and say Commando.
I've always enjoyed the Non-Jedi aspects of Star Wars.
This is not Star Wars Galaxies and Teras Kasi is made up fan fiction. Stop comparing TOR to SWG please!
lol it's not fan fiction, it's EU (Expanded Universe) and The Old Republic is considered EU.
Im gonna go with Ranger. My fav class from SWG. While everyone fought for Ranger to become a combat profession I stood loyal to the class and defended it with all I had. I hope there will be a similar class in this game, that you can relax while playing and gather resources and roleplay alot.

And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
ranger ftw.
Not trying to be mean in any way I just love Star Wars and pretty much any MMO. Do you want to solve the JEDI problem .
1) Random NPC spawn(s) after the 1rst month this game gets released. In the most remote areas of the planet (cave, 1 of 30 huts in a village, faded only appearing after you walk 5 feet near them) . Maybe even the odd corner of an instance.
2) Once you click on this Jedi Master NPC, you get a nice cut scene, and then start your very long training path. (20 Quests)
3) Jedi Master NPC despawns, to bad so sad for everyone else. Start Bragging rights and record your youtube video posts.
4) Only 1 % of the current population will spawn JEDI TRAINER NPC's based on overal server population. That means 10000 on a server 100 NPC's for everyone to find. Exploration goes through the roof
I just don't want this to be easy mode guys at all, and you can only do a few quests a day. (Still want to be a Jedi?) Han Solo Trader starting to look pretty good ehh!?!?!
You are also required to speak with that same NPC over time as part of the quest chain. You are given clues where he will be found. You still have to search for him, remember he only appears when you are 5 feet from the point he spawns.
5) When we hit month 2, then on the 1rst week of every month 5 Jedi NPC's Spawn somewhere.
There are other issues that need to be resolved but damn it I don't want it to be WORLD of SITH/JEDI.
Gonna play whatever non-evil and non-jedi/sith class they decide to introduce, seeing as how most people will obviously choose that path ('quicker it is, and more seductive' ), and probably Sith side will be overpowered to begin with, everybody wants to play a "Dark Jedi" of course, nothing wrong with that, I can see the attraction
Anyhow, I'm wondering what non-jedi classes will be on the "good side", I can see smugglers and bounty hunters obviously for the "bad" side (though not necesserily belonging to either Sith or Jedi, I hope there will be a "neutral middle ground"-way to play as well) but what would be a "good side" non-jedi class they might introduce?
Teräs Käsi Rulez. i love this class
Where is the Battle Droid?
