If you play games, you're either a hardcore gamer, average gamer or casual gamer. But according to my sibbling... To Me: "You're not a hardcore, average or casual gamer. You're lamer than a gamer." . . .
ouch
He said that when I was playing Medal of Honor Heroes 2 on Wii. I thought that since I like defeated Medal of Honor European Assault on Hard mode, "Dude, MoH H2 is gonna be easy online!"
. . . I was wrong . . .
I died many times and didn't get barely any kills. I suck at snipers and die on machine guns . . .
Doesn't it kill you to know that you want to be really good at something, but you aren't? That outs you under the category, 'lamer than a gamer'.
So, what does that leave you with? Being a medic, crafter, scientist, etc. The left out... the extras... the carebears...
Even worse is when you want to play MMOs, but your computer stinks, you're just a new teen, you're family is poor, and they don't really like violence, magic, etc.
. . . It just kills me to know I stink at killing other people

What's wrong with medics? It annoys me to no end when people go on about how they don't want to play a priest or what have you because it's boring, and the they whine and moan at the person who actually IS playing it because they died. Or they start yelling at you to heal them. Medic/Priests can (surprise!) be difficult classes to play, and are key to team survival...hardly a carebear class. I think they just have a bad wrap because people think you're not going to be a part of the action, and just a waste of your time to play.
My advice: Give it a try! If you're not doing well with the other classes, then why not try something else? Perhaps you'll get good at it, and regardless it will give you more online experience which could help you when you move on to the other classes.

Can someone tell me an MMO that is not ALL about violence, is F2P, and will work on 1.25GB RAM, Intel P 4 1.5GHz, Intel Integrated Graphics 82845G (WARNING: I might be buying a new computer $300-)
Dream of Mirror Online looks cool, but it has bad content (i.e. Entertainment Software Rating Board)
RuneScape is kind of good, but is kinda lame. Hope there are good cell-shaded games out there...
PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!
Wow. I sit in awe of your skill.
You may be lamer than a gamer. But you are the king of trolling.

I usually avoid it because I am kinda bad to keep so good check at the whole party. I only complain at a medic rarely and in severe cases because I know what is the hardest role to play.
If I tanking and die I usually blame my own incompetence and not the medic, unless you get one of those guys that watches TV at the same time and forgets to heal you for minutes. Funny enough those guys seems to be tanks most often, I know a few guys playing like that and everyone of them play tanks.
I think it was 6 months ago I complained at a medic last time and that was because of severe incompetence. And if I am group leader and someone complains at the medic without good reasons I warn him and fire repetetive offenders. A good medic is hard to find and whiny DPS players are easy to replace. And a good medic on your friend list is irreplaceble in any game
Glad to see I'm not the only one that feels this way about medic/priests then! I completely agree though, that there are people that just suck at it. Whether they just can't get the hang of healing a team, or because they figure as a support member they can just hang around and watch TV while everyone else does the fight for them, there certainly are those are bad at it.
Good to see that as a group leader you stand up for the healers! We need more people like that!

Healers arent usually that fun on games based off of PvE...play a healer in a mass PvP in L2 and you'll have never done a more frantic job in a game before
and medics in shooters, well it all depends on the game, I understand why people wouldnt want to be one in a random online game like CoD/MoH...but I play a shooter called Project Reality (its a BF2 mod...and BF2 alone is one of the worst shooters I've ever played online, but this mod is the best shooter I have ever seen or heard of)...basically its all about teamwork, if you don't join a squad you get kicked from the server, and if you dont use your mic and move around with your squad as a team, you'll get kicked from the squad. Squad leader tells someone to go medic, anti-tank, whatever...you'll have to do it, you move around as a team capping objectives, taking out enemies..don't fire unless you can kill, it'll give your posistion away. There will be a squad called transport driving your squad around in helicopters or trucks wherever you need to go, they'll drop suplies off and you can build a firebase where the rest of your team can respawn and re-kit at, etc...its pure teamwork...there's no point in playing it if you just wanna run around trying to get headshots like you would in CoD...first off you'd get kicked from server for soloing, secondly, you'd have 0 chance as you'd be fighting entire suqds craling through trees and bushes, who'd most likely see you before you saw them, and if not, you firing would give your position away, and more than 1 gun > you with realistic gun mechanics.
not about violence and low spec pc -
the violence part is difficult - almost all have fighting/magic. Some possibilities:
A Tale in The Desert III is crafting only and runs on barely nothing.
Puzzle Pirates perhaps? As the name says it about puzzles and stuff?
Toon Town?
Second Life?
SWG can run on pretty low spec systems, although I am not sure how much fun it is then, and you can choose to do only crafter or entertainer.
If you do have some cash available, the cheapest upgrade you can do where you will most likely gain from most is increasing the memory in your pc, even before buying a graphics card.
You can go 40 hours in wurmonline and never once enter combat if you don't want. Even in war an uber crafter will have atleast 20 times the effect on it than an uber fighter.
Basically the player base is given a world to craft however they want. making their own towns, and literally shaping the land how they want. Granted all the core mechanics are based around crafting rather than all the core mechanics based around combat. There is some very nice exploration though and if you get away from civilization a very good survival game.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Look into MapleStory. You still kill monsters in there, but its not really graphically violent due to the art style. A lot of younger kids also seem to play it too.
Playing - FFXIV, ESO
Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW
its all about adventurequest and neopets!.....anyways to those trying to stand up for healers, most good mmo healers i find are rude pricks that seem to love to make my life a living hell even though i never blame them for dying...they usually are yelling at the groups for something and are normally the ones that take the game way too seriously....a good monk thats humble is probably more rare than any item in game lol thats the only problem i have with the healer types, people who yell at them are just ignorant or young and dont understand. but anyways the op wasnt about that it was about being a horrible pvper be it fps or rpg and i love that you pointed out monking is hard but do you know how muich harder it is to kill a good monk as opposed to being one? either way monk is reduced to the same status op placed him at. and id live to point out that there are subtypes of the titles "hardcore gamer, average gamer, etc" because you can have casual hardcore gamers that dont take the game seriously but rock at what they do while not being top of the line but you can also have the full out hardcore players that try to be the best and have the best gear and so forth, so dont feel so bad that youre not good at pvp op not everyone should be if you want to be i suggest working on your reflexes and hand eye coordination, maybe play some sports or something lol
After healing up to Black Temple on my paladin, I gave up on being the healing class in the current strand of MMOGs, mainly due to the fact that most of it is just, "Stand here and spam one button, occasionally interlude with another button, then carry on with the most mana efficient one." I didn't think it was THAT hard to play, to be honest, and one of my priest friends tends to agree with me.
But, yeah, I've tried it in other games, such as DDO, Everquest and the like, and I have to say, all of them are the same, although DDO has less usage of healing spells, due to the mechanics of the game itself.
Healing classes should be less "sit and spam" and more like the warrior-priests in WAR (another class I quite enjoyed a bit, although near end game it becomes another sit and spam fest, mixed with changing your action points for that holy crap).
Either that, or just don't include healing classes at all. What a revolutionary idea, eh? Let everyone have first aid and potions, and be basically DPS classes focused on avoiding damage done.
Does the game have to be f2p to start? Guild Wars should run on your comp on min graphics if not better. It has it's violence so you may want to get a free trial and have your parents take a look at it. The game has the best bang for the money imo. Come over to the GW forum and see about getting a free trial.

Hello my old friend.
First of all your computer is not that bad. I mean I have been playing games like WoW and GW for years and my computer isn't half as good as that one. I do admit I am getting a new computer soo but I only have 960MB RAM and 985MHz, thats right I dont even have 1 GB Ram or 1GHz, and my graphics card, dont even get me started.
Bottom line is stop whining and practice. I used to be a terrible MMO player until I took baby steps into the big leagues. Get really good at one role and know it inside and out, find an MMO that suites your playing style(may I suggest using a MMORPG Finder?)
http://www.theburialgrounds.com/Finder.shtml
And eventually your will be on the ladder of World of Warcraft, or Guild Wars, or Eve, or Warhammer, or runescape, or Lineage or whatever floats your boat.
And by the way I happen to love playing healing classes because its is in my opinion most challanging, I also play rangers. And if you wanna have fun and be a crafter, I suggest looking into Eve Online.
I wish you the best of luck

Thnx everybody for all your help. I am hoping to buy a new computer for $300 or less. I plan it to be upgradeable one (i.e. PCI-E slots, 4GB RAM expandable, etc.). Please help me out on this one. I now know the TRUTH about healers. Thanks again everyone for your posts! Yes, I've been watching EVERY single one. I decided to start small so I ended up playing the big grandaddy, Runescape. Of the F2P classes, I found cooking the most fascinating, then mining, combat, fishing, etc.. I guess I'm the customization type of guy. But I do like combat too. But I also like being a help to others. i guess I'm humble .
Anyway, please tell me if you find any computer that fits me or got any more information, thnx again!!
P.S. If you wanted to know more about the computer stuff, look here:
PC SPECULATIONS:

Hello my old friend.
while i've something angry or unhappy, or i've a quarrel with others , instead of fighting with them in real life ,i will come to the game
