Dark and light did the exact same thing that Darkfall did. It released awesome video trailers of gameplay, it made a website with screenshots promising awesome things, the game promised the exact same thing as darkfall. Dark and Light was the most massive failure i can remember in mmorpg history maybe vanguard comes on par with it but I am not sure.
Yet people will still follow these schemes. Its sad. Atleast darkfall ones one thing different is promises a free2play before you buy. I still believe this game WILL be released but it will be a massive failure and atleast more than half of the things promised will not be in game.

Dark and Light had many issues, you would have had to have been a real follower of the game itself to see everything that happened there after the pionier launch.
It was truly sad. And the final nail loosing the law suite for stealing technology. So they we were done before they even tried to make the game.
We all can only hope that all is true that DF is and will be.
They are an indi, and can do things how they want, maybe all of the other failures and sell-outs are part of why they are the way they are.
I remember being on the Neocron Beta's all the way from 1 to retail, and how things changed when the indi developer got a publisher, and how every aspect was changed, and pushed to a locked in date!
There even open beta showed that the game was not ready due to all the changes to meet the publishers demands, it just was not ready. But that is how it went, a great indi vision to a mess.
Lets all just wait and see, we dont have any money invested to loose, and time making the game, so lets just CHILL THE FRACK OUT, and see what comes of this.
Almost anything is better than all these crapy clone free/macro pay MMO's out there. Well almost anything, wana buy a copy of AoC anyone?

Assumptions will get you know where. Where have you found any bad comments on this game since beta opened to the public? I've yet to read any, everything i've read about beta tester impressions talked about how great the game is. I understand that you don't want to be let down again, although I really doubt they'd make the same mistake as Farlan. If Aventurine were the same type of greedy scum bags, they'd of released a long time ago.
The 'noobs' review was hardly 'great'. Combat was 'meh'.... and most features were turned off. Most of what she talks about is the 'systems' of the game, she barely mentions her gameplay at all.

AOC was the biggest failure.
and.. Darkfall has NEVER promised to be FREE to PLAY. They said they HOPED they would let you try it before you buy it.. but it has NEVER NEVER NEVER been set in stone yet.

With only 10 days left until launch, I hope those systems are ready to go without being thoroughly tested.

Perhaps the other beta testers will be coming with that next patch too?
Seriously... if you are going to say read the beta leaks... then you have to take the bad with the good.
Anyone who thinks that only having a few hundred beta testers in at this stage is a good thing... well they probably aren't wanting the game to succeed.

Well, me and my mate are very excited about Darkfall, and will try it out. We can't judge it without trying it, and if it isn't what we want, we simply move on.

DF gameplay vid was awsome ..never saw something like that implemented in an MMO before..
Minor annoyances don' t destroy the excellent impression the vid was giving me.
