....Death Knights?
I played WoW for around 3 years or so. I just wanted to try the expansion since a good friend of mine still plays it (never been too much into very cartoonish looking stuff but playing with friends def makes up for it). Now I will say I mostly play lotro and war, however I'm not trying to bash wow or be bias in any way.
I will say that Blizzard is excellent at polishing and bug fixing. They are also awesome at pve, cinematics, gameplay, music within game ect....but what is going on with the amount of DKs running around? I've been trying to level my resto shaman lv 73 now. I can honestly say 40% of the folks i see running around are Dks. Why in the world couldn't they have released say one melee hero, 1 healer hero and 1 caster hero? I know some people will say how much hard work it is, but with a company like Blizzard, their reputation, talent and cash this should not have been that bad to accomplish.
I give them credit for polish and design, but in my opinion seeing such a big portion of the population playing this 1 class kind of ruins some of the experience for me. I'll probably stick mostly to lotro until maybe they realse a few more hero classes or something, and then maybe give it another shot...
Don't you guys think having 1 hero class was a bad decision on their part? I kind of feel that way : /

Are all the Death Knights keeping you from leveling your character?
If not then who cares? They could have added a Drunken Bum Shambling Down the Street class and a ton of people will play it, because it is new.
I do not understand peoples concerns with other people playing a game. As long as it is not hampering you then it shouldn't matter...now as far as them stinkin Horde attacking NPCs in Goldshire...
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
this is true, so true. and i know exactly what you mean about the horde in goldshire, it ticks me off. i wish i could walk up and slap them and say, "Now you go to far." without them replying, "aiea aiefao anene". and killing me, lol.
I actually think that putting only one hero class in at a time was genius on Blizz part. whos not going to shell out the cash to get the expansion JUST so they can be a DK? and when they put another hero class in, whos not going to shell out more cash for that one? pure genius, if you ask me.

Final Fantasy 7
Of course everyone is a dk they gave every player a free lvl 55 char. Dumbest thing I ever saw in an MMO. As if this cheesy game isn't easy enough already they really hit a new all time low with wotlk.
The raid content is designed for the mentally retarded and there is really nothing new to see. They continue with the persistent rehash of design. Hell the only real raid zone is just a revamp of an old raid zone from 2 years ago. For a game that has 11 million subs I'd love to see some content that reflects the revenue.
The best thing about wow is that you can play it on a tandy 2000 and it's pretty polished. Unfortunately it's like a nicely polished rusted out yugo. Most other MMO's are pretty much a nice sports car with no engine though so it's no surprise this is the only MMO that makes any money.
...Gearcraft. Been that way for about 3.5 years, but definitely since TBC.
Anyone who disagrees it is living in their own private Universe of Denial.
Meh...
Blizzard has released an expansion for each of the last two years. It wouldn't surprise me if they introduce another expansion within a year with MORE Hero classes in that one. They don't have tons of lore limitations so it's feasible. It probably wouldn't cost them a whole lot to do either, because they don't have to build the whole game again. So its win-win for them.
They are usually smart about giving some of their content out as they go along and not shooting everything in one package for people to eat up in three months and go "Burp! I want more. That wasn't enough!"
"TO MICHAEL!"
I certainly think just one "hero" class is a bit of a let down. I can only see this as paving the way for more of a casting "hero" class next (and hopefully before a new expansion). That said, I think to the point that you are seeing so many DKs is partially because they are viable melee classes and you don't need to grind the first 55 levels of content again in order to get going. Additionally, they are still pretty new. People are still making new ones and learning what they are all about. Of the people in my guild and on my friends list, only a handful have decided to stick with the DK as their new main character. Bear in mind, this is all just my experience and there will be plenty of other experiences that may contradict mine.

Of course there are a lot of DK's out there. As stated above they give you a free level 55 character with very good gear. However, you need to give it some time. If so many people enjoyed playing a DK style character, then there would be a world full of Pallys. (Yes, I know there are a lot of them already)
My point is that after most people get their DK to 80, they will switch back to their main and balance will resume.
Games played/playing: Asheron's Call, AC2, SWG, GW, LotRO (Beta), DnDO (Beta), WoW
Its about choice, many people created Death Knights just because it was interesting. And there's a point unchecked: Lore. Its Wrath of the Lich King, not the Super Duper Hero Trio. For example Blood Elves and Drenei came with TBC. You can't put a Hero class or something randomly. Arthas is a Death Knight, so you can create a Death Knight. An Archdruid would be nonsense, so would a Demon Hunter. And the next expansion pack, as some rumors say, will probably be about Emerald Dream or Maelstrom. Next hero class will be about them and so on...
regards
I think it's important to keep in mind that most of these Death Knights are alts, not main characters. If you're still level 73, you're probably a bit behind the main curve so the people you're playing with are mostly people who already have a character at 80 and are now playing Death Knight to experience that class.
There are so many things I could say but the only thing I will is, that is terrible logic.

I can see the deep logic in your post.
