Technically, I cannot be under the NDA because I have not downloaded or signed anything and there is no way that Aventurine would know that my guild leader would give me an invite.

Again I am just curious and wondering what others think. Personally, I have a high standard of ethics and have upheld every NDA I have ever signed and I wouldn't feel bad about saying I got an invite from my guild leader (if I did).

    Any thoughts/ideas?

Don't quote me on this but I read somewhere that when you get the email 2 guys in black suits stand behind you taking photos of you clicking the 'I AGREE' button. Don't fuck with them.

Went exactly as I expected.  'Thousands' of people invited to the beta/trial whatever they call it but NDA still up, no way to verify if its true, and no one you know will tell you they are part of it.

and yes, I prefer to see the glass as half empty, and no, I won't shut up.

Technically speaking, you should legally be able to tell people you received an invite until you sign the NDA.

Yeah, because I love breaking the NDA. Give it a day or two and we'll start seeing the leaks. You know where to find them I'm sure.

And I'll be the first to say that I am betting on Darkfall succeeding, not in the numbers of WoW because it IS going to be niche game that 80% of you on here won't be able to handle, but feel free to quote me right here and now if it:

    A) never releases

    or

    B) is buggy and shitty as launch.

I'll put my neck on the line, where are all of you MMORPG morons going to be when you're proven wrong? I expect a swarm of apologies and "you told me so", otherwise grow a pair before dissing a game that's not even out yet.

Yeah, tried explaining this in another thread, but apparently Aventurine has the ability to strike fear into the hearts of potential leakers where companies like MS, Apple, Blizzard etc have failed to do so...

Probably because they have greek ninjas who will seek you out and kill you with gyros and baklava...

I didn't get an invite.. I've never logged into the game... I know absolutely nothing about it.

    Its epic fail!!!

Sorry I just wanted to join in.

On the other hand I've made somewhere around 10 million dollars making people think a game is ready to launch that they've spent no money on!!

*hint* If you can't detect sarcasm for a certain type of poster here.. please move along.

i happen to just be peepin in on this thread when i noticed the thread turning into an assault on the NDA and whats legal~ whats not. Ive been in quite a few [over 25] myself both on pc and on console and tbh each NDA has its own specific aggreements per project ~ per company per stage of development.  So unless someone could show us the NDA for This game which would of course in itself be illegal you cant really know. On another note in most scenarios most companies do not allow you to say your in the beta for obvious legal and protective reasons and some dont mind at all. If they allow the restriction[s]  will always be that would be about the most you could say while flexin your Epeens for being one of the few the proud and the lucky to have the privaleage of being in the beta period.

As far as this game goes directly id say look for them to be more regionalized as far as who they are going to allow in to the beta, as it would be a lot easier for them to test w/out over stressing the server much. Yes ive read in other threads that theres "allegedly" ppl playing from all over right now but I personally aint buying that line. And no im not a fan boi or a troll ... or even a skeptic though im skeptical of somethings on this game, im just watching from the outside looking in.

TBH i love the Darkfall forums cos right now and over last few months this games forums are really good when ur sitting back wanting a good laughing  read during a solid 420 ... i cant wait for game to finally launch cos its only going to get better.

as much as i personally hate bashing on a game, but really... a DNS attack? this is suppose to be a company that designs military flight sims, that is rocking the best game ever, and they aren't setup to block a dns attack?

    what... the... *bleep*.....

i wonder if their servers will be this vulnerable if the game launches.

Did anyone expect anything different? Aventurine throwing out claims that no one can verify, nobody hearing a single leak about the game even though there are supposedly "thousands" of players playing it now, downtoearth defending the game and throwing out random numbers to support his claims. This day has everything that Aventurine is and does.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike

Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

I heard that on Feb 25th they plan on using the "Terrorists Bombed Aventurine HQ and destroyed the most current build of the game, setting them back 2 years..." excuse...

I like to tryto start out with as objective a view as I can in any thing I enjoy be it movies, books, music, gaming and as such I am looking at Darkfall as a whol and they are attempting to offer too many good things for me to overlook the project, but I have to say that the recent history of this project has certainly put a couple marks on them.

I've had a few games I got on launch day but have never felt compelled to be in every game from launch DF has certainly been placed in he wait and see category if even just for a week or two until I can hear what it's all about. I think gamers especially mmo players are an extremely patient bunch as our hobby has taught us to be in this fast paced world we live in more honesty about where a project is at and less when we are going to launch is not a bad thing.

Also the few whispers seem to point to a game that is heading more of the aoc route and less of the eqII which if it happens will not be a good thing.

I've still got some high hopes for this game since for me it could truly be a dream mmo but we can't forget the higher the climb the longer the fall can easily apply here as it has with so many projects to not meet expectations.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

This is an update about what is happening today:
We have sent out the first wave of invites to clans and individual testers. We will send more waves of invites within a few hours. Invited players will be able to download the Darkfall installer.
We are applying the latest patch, and players will be able to start patching soon, and entering the game.
We are spacing out the invites in order to facilitate the download of the client and patching. We will continue sending out more invites every day until we reach our capacity.
Since this first phase has to do with stress testing the servers, and doing final testing on features, we are not lifting the NDA until this testing is concluded.
We apologize for the problems with the forums and the website today, we have been experiencing denial of service attacks, and we are working to resolve them.

    Read more here.

i guess i missed it -- what happened to the journalist beta?

or, do we just pretend that the past never exists when it comes to darkfall, and we only pay attention to what is announced on this particular hour?

honestly, reading up on all the supposed ffa pvp in this game and it's pretty carebearish compared to pvp in eve.

all this game is --- is a decade old attempt at remaking ultima online.

and um, do you own stock in the company?  do you work for the company?  are you receiving some sort of money from this company?

if not, and you're some type of "fan", then you should be promoting the virtues of the game, and pointing people to items that are prove-able, instead of just making up random garbage and pretending to be some sort of heroic defender of tasos.

if you don't know anything, don't act like you do.  if you know something, link it up, or shhhh, cuz no one cares about made up fancies in regards to this game.
