Best Star Wars scenes

What are your top 5/10 fav SW scenes from any of the movies or shows?

My personal list,

1. Darth Vader killing Sidious in Return of the Jedi: its just /the/ moment for the entire 6 movies. Vader actually is the Chosen One, destroying the Sith and eventually leading to the Empire's collapse. Just an extremely emotional and powerful scene, one you wouldn't expect.

2. Luke, I am your father in Empire Strikes Back: the moment in SW that's been parodied more than no other, just a defining moment for the whole saga. The moral issues completely change when Luke realizes he may have to kill his father to rid the Empire.

3. Geonosis Clone Battle in Attack of the Clones: personally, I think it stands out as the most epic battle sequence in all the movies. I know Hoth was cool, but the special effects brought this up on my list. Plus the addition of cool creatues (spider, wolf and rhino things) and Yoda's first light saber duel in the saga.

4. Battle of Yavin IV in A New Hope: the first epic battle in the entire line of movies you see. It's epic on so many levels, ships flying everywhere, Porkins, the Death Star blowing up, etc.

5. Duel on Mustafaar/Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith: firstly, a defining moment in the entire saga, literally shifting things to Sidiou's favor and one of the truly best light saber duels in all 6 movies.

HONORABLE MENTION

Hoth Battle in Empire Strikes Back: the first real epic land battle in Star Wars. The AT-ATs are pretty cool, and all the action going on is just plain awesom.

    #2 without a doubt.

Not sure how many of you actually lived through the original saga, actually waiting for the next trailer to be shown at the theater and watching the movies at the theater instead of at home.  Only getting information from trailers and not being able to rely on bits and peices through the internet.   But what lead up to this scene was a lot of build up and excellent story telling.  This was THE thing we all waited on, who was lukes father?

I remember sitting around with friends discussing the movie in the way only a way 8-10 year old kid could discuss it talking about the possibilities of Darth being Lukes father.  Honestly what was move obvious back then was that everyone thought leia was lukes sister, and bits and pieces hinting that Darth could be lukes father throughout the movies seemed more like a intentional distraction to pull your attention away from something else.  Everyone thought Darth was a liar and that Luke couldnt possibly be his son, well in the mind of an 8 year old anyway.  Keep in mind, we didnt have the luxury of discussing this with adults via the internet or hearing an adults take on it other than our parents.  And of course our parents fed into our imaginations

I tell ya, it was an awesome time to be that age when star wars first came out.  I think If I had watched the original on DVD or VHS at an older or mature age I wouldnt have appreciated it as much.  I definitely wouldnt have enjoyed it post-internet explosion with the hundreds of jaded star wars fans giving their take on everything.

I always enjoyed the Battle of Hoth. Even after I saw EP.1-3 I always thought the Battle of Hoth looked more "realistic". Like when the rebel scout looks through his binoc's at the oncoming AT-AT's, to me it like they were no kidding there, marching forward ontot the Rebel base. The newer movies relied too much on the CGI for the Genosis Battle and  it just came off  as phony to me.

    Other favorite scenes:

    - ROTJ - The entire "Jabbas Palace" minus the final battle at the Sarlacc Pitt. I just liked the way they mae Jabbas place seem dark and full of scoundrels. Also, Luke begins to show some Dark side capabilities (force chocking the guards).

    - The Death Star 2  Battle over Endor - Close in Capital ship combat was great. The space battle at the beginning of EP3 could have put this battle to shame, but Lucas breezed right by it.

Episode IV On the Death Star. Han after some storm troopers yelling as he runs with his rifle in hand. He turns the corner and finds the troopers led him into about 100s of other storm troopers. Han being the guy he is realizes his mistake and runs back the other way yelling as they chase after him. Believe he was trying to create a diversion but its just hilarious everytime I see it. Also in the original version I think he only runs into about 5-10 storm troopers then the remake Lucas made those 10 troopers into 100s.

    Current: Puzzle Pirates
    Waiting: SWTOR,Aion, CO
    Played: AC, WoW, SB, EVE

best scene.  Awesome when seen on the big screen.

This one is a close second, but it didn't make it into the movie.

Did you just say improved? They didn't improve anything! They just added Hayden Christensen instead of that weird old guy when Luke sees the three ghost figures. Everything else subtracted from the original film.

Oh and uh, Han shot first.

I would like to add the only fight scene of Yoda. I guess that would be included in the top three IMO...

The beginning title screen, music and onto the rolling intro. Always my favorite - no matter the movie.

the entire fight between Darth Maul, Qui Gon, and Obi Wan....sooooooo epic on soooooo many levels.

I like the old movies better as wholes...but nothing tops the Duel of the Fates fight scene from episode one.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
