I wonder why Mythic decided to made GOA to run/maintain the servers in Europe??
In open beta, all they got was code 414 ( (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgIPmtMCbxw) and the hilarious one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drnz1i3IEuE&feature=PlayList&p=1B84931799F9EBBD&playnext=1&index=3)
And now there is severly crashes everytime an so called open rvr is taking place with over 200-300 players around!!
Why in the hell did Mythic chosed GOA to companion?? Will GOA do Russia and Asia aswell??

The other options in Europe would likely be worse than GOA, and I'm guessing Mythic didn't have enough money to set up their own offices there. So they chose the lesser evil.
Just let people in Europe play in the US servers : I hate localized games because it splits up the community and Europe always has less players and the servers go dead. Everyone always says lag but if I can get a ping of 80 from Europe on Planetside and not have any lag while playing on the US server then theres noe xcuse for you not to have the game in mmorpgs which arn't an FPS.
You're in the UK, according to your profile. The UK, Nordic countries, Benelux, France and Germany hardly have much ping to the US, the rest of Europe, however. A friend told me their main tank from Turkey (maybe not technically Europe, but anyway) was trying to keep Nefarian (BWL - WoW) under control with 2 seconds latency - and that was to a server in Germany. :-)
I am in the UK as well & whilst I never had problems with using US servers in previous MMOs, to be honest it is much better being in the same time zone as most of my guildmates rather than constantly being at least five hours ahead.
I agree that GOA are utter $%&# though.
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?
Take the Hecatomb? TCG What Is Your Doom? quiz.
Differences in time schedule are a pain indeed. It's at least 5 hours ahead if you're just taking into consideration people in the EST. It can be more than that though. I once was in a lovely corporation in EvE that was run mainly by people in on the West Coast of both the US and Canada and I was *never* on when they went about doing fun things like fleet battles.
However, if Euro players mainly played on the US servers, there would be either some European guilds forming or guilds would split into two main playtimes like I've seen in a lot of games with non-segregated player populations. In general in EvE, I did find corps that were active at the same time I was on. My example above was just an unlucky one. In a way, it would help out WAR to have several prime times with respect to oRvR.
Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.
I'm from Europe and I play on one of the most populated US severs but the time zone difference is making me come back to the Euro servers. There is a strong Asian population on it so the server is mostly alive 24/7 but due to language difference, it might as well be a 1 player game during the day but of course there is small scale rvr all through the day but if i want to take part in a fortress or city play i need to be on really late like a few days ago order took the last fortress and it was it 3am so if i wanted to play in IC i would be doing an all nighter to 9am.
So like the quote above, time difference is a major factor now. Another thing was the shortage of Euros on the US servers, two months playing on a US server i met two euro players and was always told the same thing...there used to be a loads of euro players on the US servers at the start (most likely due to GOA) but most of them left.
Anyways it seems Dark Crag is the main server now on the US side for good RVR but again time difference will always be a major factor for me when it comes to the end game (fortress/city)
I think mythic have really boob'd on the server locations, they should have just made american servers for everyone and us euro's could have made our own un-official euro servers, I think red eye mountain at one time was the un-official euro server but after reading their forums that server has took a major hit in population. Its not just us that are suffering, players on the oceanic servers have bad pings and are forced to play on the north american servers as well but after speaking to 1 or 2 players they are thinking of putting up with the bad ping and moving back because their friends play on there. So overall server locations in my opinion is a major stumbling for mythic or who they partner with in different locations.
Time to re-activate the GOA account. !!!
GOA is one of the most incompetent companies out there. How can Mythic choose them after the EU DAoC disaster? Do they not realise we are 730 million people in Europa with money enough to buy games??!
I wish EA broke contract with GOA and make their own servers.
