Perfect World is the most interesting FTP game to come out in a long time. It is attracting devoted WoW players as well as a lot of players from other games.
The high level of versatiflity, for instance, in building your characters, is awesome unlike other games where you have to ask for the best build, etc.
The maps are huge, you can fly, swim, walk or even ride a mount. Everyone can have pets but only one class has combat pets. The character design is simply awesome... the different times of day (sun and moon phases, day/twilight, sunny or raining, etc), the changing seasons (falling leaves, snow, etc) make it so realistic that even flying through it all seems like a normal state.
The community is mature enough not to engage in stupid comments or infantile diatribes that are usual in other games and are always ready to help.
There are so many quests for players up to level 60 (I think) and even beyond, that grinding is not an issue and even then, it's not boring.
Most of all, their staff members are friendly and courteous, and they provide useful guides which are easily understood by all.
What more can you ask from a FTP game?!

I have to agree. I downloaded it on a whim, and I'm enjoying the gameplay very much. Very first F2P game I've ever tried.
Only negatives so far are the inability to REMAP keys and my #1 pet peeve, NO Y-Axis invert on the mouse. Have to admit that did frustrate me quite a bit, but i'm slowly getting used to it.
Wonderful game.
agreed this is definately THE best game i've ever played in years. at first glance i expected to get bored of it within a week. within a 3 week period. I met 2 players i'm good friends with, and i was added to a guild my first week my 3rd day to b exact. even if u choose to play solo it's not boring because there's always someone to party up with or hang out with. If you think you're alone when u first start you're definately mistaken because your bound to meet at least 1 player you'll wind up being good friends with at some point.
i totally agree in fact the classes are all so fun i'm having trouble decideing between them! I have a lvl 29 veno (even though i'm a boy )and a lvl 17 cleric. I've met a few good riends on both chars. and even my RL friends play. This game gets an A+!
I can help some "pet peves" First of all, you click at the bottom right on options, settings... then go to the game tab. Here you can invert zoom on the mouse and make it so you can see people all the way across the screen instead of just on top of you. (Note, this may lag a bit in large cities, but usually this is minimal) Good luck!
Well first off, this game is all about how much money you spend in the item shop. While you can still have fun in the game,if you want to pvp, expect to spend big dollars, I am talking $100's.
So yeah, not a bad game, but end game is completely dependent on spending a lot of money in item shop. And the item shop is by far the most expensive in the industry.
So unless you have rich pockets, this is just a pve event in leveling and then moving on.
What more could you ask? Well I did try this it is kinda fun but I have never seen a game with SOOOOO many bots. There really is not much to it, nothing yet is very hard to fight, very very very simple quests. Leveling is lol so fast its unreal.. But still kinda fun
This Game is Tottally Crap!
Couse game servers are on MAlaysia n Laggin too much like 500ms 3k sometimes. (i got 16mbit Bandwith) And Yea got some good features awesome character design but it never changes anything even we cant play...
Well I wish i had a west Europen Server Maybe i will play it again
The game is good yes. but if you want a good non grindy free game I think Runes of Magic is slightly better than PW, Also RoM's cash shop Is much more fair priced than PW and the in game money/AH system is identical so the only difference there is better CS prices and a much more optional CS.
better than some pay to play games imo.

It was good, but I think Runes of MAgic is better. More interesting, imo
I live in Alaska and found a server with 46 ms ping.
I'm not sure how to feel. I opened it up today for the first time but only got through the basic things (level 3, haha). I won't make any final judgments this early, of course, but it has an almost meditative, relaxing vibe. But I also can't find any 'resource' sites so I know what's to come. In fact, I guess the game stopped giving me 'line' quests after the Elder, and I'm kind of dropped to find quests to do on my own.
Which, I have no problem with, it just feels odd. I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow when I log on. I feel a little overwhelmed.
Goodbye, my strange pain, number 28.
I'm really finding that bloody music annoying. It's not so much the tune but the fact that it starts up again as soon as you move anywhere. So you keep getting the same opening bars. Also, the sound generally is poor. About the the only environment sound is the stamping of your character's feet, the same whatever surface you're on. Some players might say turn the sound off but I usually find MMO music and sound immersive. WoW wouldn't be the same without it, for instance.
Really, this game is about average, and what I expect from an eastern fantasy import, for what I've played of it so far. Most monsters are passive, and the areas are just sprinkled with monsters more randomly and hapazardly then it's Western Counterparts. The Character Design is standard MMO fair, and there has been valid points made of play balance issues on it's boards.
The one thing that I don't like about the game is that it has poor faction design from the start. For example, if you want healing, you must have a Winged Elf in the party. There is no other healing class. The only pet class in the game belongs to the Ferals, making them more attractive then other mage classes, and so on. For the backstory saying "Yeah, you were all at war till boogymen showed up", I would have expected to see that adversity continue to be reflected more.
It's not that the art direction isn't good (For a free MMO, it's really nice), but the play is... less engaging then I like my MMO's. It's a nice game to fill time between subscription cards, but I'll probably be jumping ship for the next Western Release.
