True or did he lie ?
Tasos Flambouras: Darkfall could launch today. It's more ready for launch than most, if not all of the MMORPG titles at the same stage that I've personally sampled and it has been for quite some time. Everything has been tested internally.
from my reading here it looks like a big lie

Perhaps he was just wrong. Don't assume everything you hear that isn't true later was a lie. He could just be a moron.
Got to be VERY careful with this guy. Notice that he says "that I've personally sampled" Maybe he sampled only DnL, so he would be mostly right. Or maybe not.. well it's up to debate.
I think Tasos suffers from some rare form of Tourette Syndrome.
They should have just let Claus do all the talking and kept Tasos duct taped and locked in a closet.

The core game mechanics are in the game right now, I was in beta for a month or so little longer. A Lot of the stuff just needs tweaking and more player input on it. So I wouldn't say he lied. The billing wasn't ready for it yet and some sync issues but game works fine no big client crashes and other normal release stuff. Call me a fanboi I don't really care trolls are the ones who can't take a change for once in there life.

I have seen a number of statements that have been made by Aventurine employees that are every bit as ambiguous as this one. Right here he can reference back and claim that his statement was in fact true. He just led us to believe that DF was in a better state of affairs than it actually is.

All assumptions are baseless....
The Beta was much more stable most of the time. They messed it up the last Beta Week rolling out Patch after Patch, Server most of the time down, no more testing ...
They also missed to do a stress test, so he may be right if you reduce the amount o Player / Server drastically and rollback to the Beta Version 14 days before.
The release failed and thats the only fact that is important and so yes he lies.
