Character name bug

I have created a character, deleted it, and started a new one with the same name. If I enter the name in the character creation screen, I get a "Character name OK" message. But, I cannot start the game with that character. Just recently I started getting "Character name already exists" message when I click Next. It still says "Character name OK" when I use the checker. I'm quite sure this is a bug since my character's name is rare.

Any ideas how to fix this or where to report it?

    I'd try the name with a "1" after it. If that works, go back and try the original again, if it doesn't work, the name is taken. Possibly by you still (glitch)

    Strange. The same thing in SWG years ago. Once created you could never get your name back with a new character no matter how rare the name was.

    I hope this is not just a "feature" since i will experiment with all races if i ever have the chance to play Darkfall. I'd use the contact support form inside account management if i were you.

    i tried, but it doesn't works..at least for now...

    i made also  a bug signal but i think they are too busy with more important issues now.

    I did the same thing, waited a few minutes and relaunched then made a different race and name to mess around.

     

     

    I prolly spent like 20min and quit, old name worked after I relaunched to try again.

    As far as I remember It was intended like that, something about reputation or whatnot

     

    of course that could also be a gamebreaking flaw from AV, according to the trolls

    With AV anything is possible. But I believe this issue was reported ont e offical forums. Here is AVs response :

    Well that's the kind of thing you DON'T want to announce right? AV is pretty much like a politician.. In subjects that cause controversy they choose to neither deny or confirm...

    There isn't even a sticky thread at the top of their forum to cover issues such as this. The only dammned thing up there is how BUY the game and Lord Tasos news al la "come scramble for pre order my urchins". Oh and some blather about forums are going to change. i.e. There make em private and iron fist rule them even more so.

    Also I did see a thread about this on DF forums as I was over there having a laugh. However the search function has been disabled on the boards...  

    Yeah poor I know. I am disgusted with AV once again.  Its almost as if they don't want t bother fixing people issues. +1 to Tasos about to do a runner to somewhere nice and warm probability. Real professional.
