LF free MMO for RPers
I have been searching for awhile now for a free MMO that's ideal for Roleplaying with no luck.
There are some things the game needs to have, such as:
- Allowing long posts in dialog screen (Like to that of AoC)
- 3D graphics (shader 2.0 or higher)
- Fantasy themed world (AoC couldn't deliver)
- Realistic length characters (no Chibi or alike)
these are the musts that I seek in the game.
I'm a heavy roleplayer and enjoy RPing a commoners life,
for that there are other things I seek in the games but not a must have.
- Big cities/towns with streets, side-streets (not big town squire after town squire)
- open buildings that allow you to enter (AoC is filled with closed buildings)
- Nice economics system.
- Tons and tons of different looking outfits/clothing.
With these my list of demands on the MMO I seek become hard
so if you know any that fit the first 4 demands,
Please do let me know.
P.S. Free MMO is what I would enjoy most but if you know one that fits my desire but is pay,
I still am interested ^^

Seems Voyage Century Oline like what you want.
Runes of Magic isn't bad. It's free and has an impending launch. It's currently in open beta. The graphics aren't bad, there is a decent player base, you get free housing, and as I said, it's free. I think they are introducing two new classes at alunch. The game also allows for dual class play. Personally, I wouldn't pay for it, but as a free game, it's quite nice. Also I think Anarchy Online still has available free play. It's a rather strange MMO, but free is free.

But neighter games have what I seek,
Voyage is historical and I seek something that's deep into fantasy.
I havn't tried it so I'm downloading it right now but so far I don't have my hopes high for it.
I tried runes of magic a while ago, it doesn't allow long posts
and that really limits my freedom in RP.
Age of Conan is the only MMORPG I have experianced that allows long posts.
Yet Age of Conan is Historical aswell (In my eyes)
Not the Fantasy I seek.

Strange that you're looking for a free game, but comparing every game to AoC, which is paid. You know, if the free things were as good as the paid, no one would pay for anything.
And after reading your description, the only game that comes to mind is WOW, it has all things you listed and lots of hardcore rp-ers. Well, it has gnomes and dwarves, who are rather short, but firstly, what would a fantasy game be without midgets and second, we have people of different sizes in real world also.
Well, i doubt you'll ever find a free mmo that suits your needs, but the post sounds like WoW all over..
You just have to find the right RP server for you and mix into the community thats there.
Free is most welcome but I don't really mind if it's pay.
But there are plenty of others out there too that seek RPG games where you can actually really RP in.
I have played WoW for 3 years. problem with WoW is,
it doesn't allow many words per posts.
And even then (have played on many RP and PR/PvP servers)
They found me far to deticated to RP.
Like T6 for priests (RPing as a Blind Seer).
I kept grinding that just for RP even through WotLK was already out.
WoW isn't a place you can RP well, only tavern RP,
which I'm not really a fan of.
That's why I left WoW, still the time I did play it, it was great. just not the RP I seek.

The simple reason I kept going back on AoC in my previous post
is because that game comes closest to what I seek.
It's just a shame there is no other game like it (that I know of)
that is actually Fantasy themed instead of mostly Historical.
Barbarians of west Europe, Rome empire and the egyptian (under different names).
That's why I only shortly played AoC.
But I'll correct my error ^^ Any, any MMO game at all that fit the 4 first wishes, please do mention.

It is because what you seek is a dying art.
Not many Rpers of your calibre still playing games, most of them either went back to UO or EQ1, maybe some left in DAoC but what you are really seeking died in the golden ages of MMO's we are now in the Dark ages of MMO's and your kind are a rarity that still walk amoung us.
The best thing I could think of you to do is. Start a RP guild on Guild Wars which is free and seek like minded players. Give that a go maybe. It would be your last hope for a deep fantasy world, free with non chibi characters. You can't write books in the chat system but it is lengthy enough for most.
Other than that, you are going to have a really hard time finding what you seek, because honestly it just doesnt exist anymore.
I had that feeling, but didn't give up hope.

Maybe I should write suggestions to the developers of still in development MMO's

But I understand now to the why my search for an ideal RP MMO been without success.
The reason I mentioned Guild Wars is because I actually used to RP in that game myself.
I had an all monk guild, with an asian themed guild hall.
Had a member count of about 70 at the time.
We trained together and faught together as a team, we had meditation time were we would all meet at the temple and meditate.
We spoke like monks, even when in the world we carried ourselves like monks would. As in quiet, only speak when spoken to, never cause trouble, always defensive. Help others and so forth.
I know this isn't what you are referring to however. I do understand what it is you seek.
Like I said, that will be almost impossible to find in any game out today.
It is possible in some, but finding enough Rpers on your level is the truely hard part.
Not too many free RPing MMO's unfortunately...
OP you drive a hard bargain here... But I think your best bet might be Lord of the Rings Online. I played it for a bit a while ago, and it is a pretty decent game. (a bit too slow paced for me, but I'm not you) And from what I hear from my friends that still play is that it still has a pretty active RPing community. The only thing that I'm unsure of is the length of the posts that it allows.
