Free Area to Premium Content Please Read !

If you are wanting to play past the free area please read about how the premium content fees are going to work.  I just read on the site that a 30 day free was 1500 Acclaim Coins which cost $20 for 2010 Coins, enough to cover that unless your a Acclaim member which will make it $14.  But the Acclaim membership cost $10, I do no know if it is $10 a month though.

Just something to think on if you want more then what the free area has to offer.

They are going to also be offering a monthly payment model (per today's chat) but it hasn't been implemented yet. Today was only the first day of open beta so I would expect to see this happen most likely when the game launches. (Or soon after.)

I just read today when I was looking at the main web page that they will be doing the $15 a month option soon.  That is good news to me so now I will DL the beta and play too see if I like it.

I will just take this chance to remind people that you don't have to buy a box for this game.

They give you the client, which Funcom, Mythic etc charged you £35ish for, for free. For a superior game IMO to both.

Add this to the free trial from day 1, which again those other companies never did (possibly to hide broken games?), and you have amazing value to be honest.

The CC implementation i would think will be here for the offical 'live' announcement. It really shouldnt take a company like Acclaim all that long to sort out, especially now that they are aware how many of their new style customer base (P2Pers) want it.

I hope you enjoy it :)

One piece of advice though, try not to pay too much attention to Hawks Landing's (the first zone that you enter after the tutorial) OOC chat. It's pretty horrible, with a lot of F2P users complaining about having to actually pay a sub for a game and the ever present 'This isnt WoW' debate. As soon as one of these kids seem to discover they have to pay or actually have to learn a new way of doing things they seem to resort to ignorant trolling before they uninstall.

/ignore at this point is your friend.

The P2P community is excellent :)

Better yet is to downlaod the EU client (since the IP ban is no longer in effect) and play on one of the International servers there. You can use your credit card to pay monthly (no coin fiasco to worry about) and the EU client is 1 patch and 1 hotfix ahead of the Acclaim client.

I can't see myself doing that at all. I live in NA I think i should play in NA. Other reasons aside the most important is that other peoples playtimes will be same as mine. I have played on ero servers before and during my NA playtimes there are no people on,

I'm just waiting on the direct pay with credit card option before I make the jump to premium. For some reason my credit card is denied every time I try to buy the Acclaim coins.

christ, the amount of people crowing about it not being ftp...

look on acclaims spellborn website at the gigantic "BUY PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION" and"BUY ACCLAIM COINS" buttons sat at the side of the screen.

I'm fairly certain they know this but do not want to pay for more than they have to. Nobody wants to pay for more than they have to. I've been trying to purchase the Acclaim coins myself and keep being denied when I know I have funds available...

Oh lord, did you HAVE to bring up the "this isn't WoW" howling we've been subjected to?? Its quite an entertaining game so far(once you get used to the FPS style combat system). But my lord, the start areas are over run by a mix of bnet battle kiddies, and F2P types. I can't say that I really care for the heavy focus on grouping, but I'll see where it goes.

"If you can't kill it, don't make it mad."

    hehe sorry Wraith.

I only mention it for educational value.

Stronger GM moderation is defitinally required in Hawkschat.

The free trial makes this zone Acclaim's shop window that will sell their product, they need to treat it as such and invest some manpower into it. A GM and a small team of volunteer guides would be awesome.

A perceived 'bad community', when actually it isnt at all when you get to the P2P (quite the opposite) will cost them subs and money.

As a lst note, I would also say there isnt a 'heavy' focus on grouping at all... It is actually pretty balanced in my experienced, but then I am a social play who enjoys it so the group contant dosent rankle me like it would a dedicated soloer.

When you have finalised you class choice, at least for your main, and subbed, you would be welcome to join us in Radiance.

We are a non-RP EU/US guild with optional vent that has sworn to House Rune. Give me a tell ingame as Iceberg, or if I am not there Slaiyne, Fail, or Hollywarrior, amongst others. :)
