- Ziff Davis property and popular game-centric file download service FileFront is closing down on March 30 due to the “current economic conditions” and this after 10 years in operation. Users have only a couple of days left to retrieve their files before the website is indefinitely suspended.

Call me Mr Cynical, but it says Filefront has "Over 1.5 million files totaling 48+ TB of space". I wander how much of it is legal and how much of it will be sold to the highest bidder.
Filefront was one of my favorite sites. Its sad to see them go.
Aw, man.. that sucks. That was one place that could push out over 800 kbps pretty solid. Oh well, it can't be helped.
This was bound to happen.

It is a pity as this was a good resource for gamers. Current economic conditions suck

Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
With the advent of sites such as Fileplanet, Rapidshare, and torrents, Filefront no longer had the market share it previously enjoyed.
And Ziff Davis Publishing has been in constant threat of bankruptcy for years, long before the current economic downturn.
So I really see no reason for anyone to be surprised at this.
Its so close to April Fools day, is there a slight possibility that might be the reason for this. Not trolling, infact I hope that is the reason for the simple fact I have downloaded much from there, its easy, and fast. you dont have to sign up and it makes life easy for modders and the such. Anyway, I just hope its an early april fools thing, sadly my years on the internet have made me question any announcement that comes around this time. Especially online, they are infamous for doing jokes like this.
Unfortunately this is not a April Fool's joke.
