I played in the Open Beta, and im still not sure what im going to play in retail. Probably have a main character whos on the horde, and a 2nd character whos a completely opposite class and on the alliance.

I will probably do the same thing but I am going to concentrate on my Troll Hunter where my guild will be set up!  But I am interested in seeing what the gnomes can do.  I read that they can hide in bushes?  Maybe a Rogue Gnome?  What do u think?

Horde for sure. Troll Rogue is the only way to go, man!

During Beta I played on pvp server as alliance.  With the retail allowing for max of 50 characters, I plan on playing alliance on one realm and horde on the other.  I can't wait to try out some horde toons and get to venture in horde lands since I really haven't seen much of it and that will bring some newness for me since i pretty much seen most of alliance territory during OB.

Im in the game for the PvP.

So far after spending the last couple weeks in open beta, having been in the previous stress test, and having guild members within closed beta we have come to this conclusion.

Horde are the 'cool guys to be' and Alliance are the 'good guy noobs'

Seems like the majority of organized guilds will be going Horde, so they can been undead and look cool, be shamans, etc.

Thus, leaving Alliance with unorganized, slaughtered sheep. I have seen repeated attacks by the horde on alliance areas, absolutely dominating the unorganized forces.

I have yet to see any alliance attacks that didnt directly involve my guild. It leaves me with the opinion that to get the best PvP, you should go alliance, because then you'll be fighting the organized good players.

The best way to make yourself better, is to fight the best, with limits in your favor, and I believe that alliance offers that. Alliance will be the challenge, and therefore WMD will be going alliance, on a central server (due to being central, and the fact that most organized guilds once more will be following suit).

Thats my thoughts on the issue.

I will be going alliance... I just love stormwind so much lol.  I will probably PvP too and I favor the alliance off of the story line.  However on a different server I'll go horde just not for a while

I really quite like the dwarves :)

  • numaticnumatic Member UncommonPosts: 675

I find both sides equally appealing. To me it seems like the alliance see themselves as "righteous do gooders" while the horde see them as tresspassers and plunderers, and the alliance sees the horde as savages.

Either way, both sides are good looking. However ill be playing alliance for release(to group with friends).

Alliance have an easier time leveling up. This is seen in the Teens where they have alot more options than Horde does.

3 Races for Horde get pushed into 1 zone during the teens (unless they want to jump on the zepplin over to the undead area... which would mean the 4 races have 2 zones) where the alliance have 4 different zones , 3 of which you can easily travel between just by Trams/Griffons.

Once you get 30+ you start sharing zones alot more than before and it all equals out :)

  • On the Open beta, I was an Undead Warrior, But also tried out Orc Shaman. I dont know what to play, but I think it will be mainly an Undead Warrior. And maybe I will try out some Alliance races. Tried some on the Beta.

But what kinda server I should play on, I still dont know. Me and my brothers will play on same server, so I just wait untill we all have agreed about one.

But Undead Warrior for me.image They are evil. -smiles chaotic-image

Ill probably go Undead Priest and Orc Warrior

  • ShobuShobu Member Posts: 195

I played a human warrior in the first stress test and tried a few classes in OB. I really never though I'd like playing horde, but since I tried an undead warlock, it was perfect for me and that's what I'll be going with in retail.

It seems to me that race is more of a personal choice than for any other reason. THe traits are helpful but not that spectacular. I like the tauren and I like the orcs, but I think the Alliance total package is better than the horde. TO me there ios something unappealing about the undead and trolls

rofl this is the dumbest statement i have ever heard about WoW....

All alliance will be noobs and all horde will be organised, that is so ridiculous i can't even laugh about it.

    so stupid

I played alliance in CB and horde in ST/OB.

I like the horde races more, but the alliance cities and zones are designed so much better in my opinion, so I will be alliance.

I love the atmosphere and the design of Ogrimmer, i found the Undead City very confusing when i first went there. I think the design of that city can be improved. Ive yet to play alliance, so i cant comment on them, but the alliance races dont appeal to me, im sick of humans and elves. If i was to play Alliance it would be Dwarf, purely because they have a treasure hunting ability. Id use that money and fund it to my main Horde character :) Unfortunately, and a smart move by Blizzard, last time i tried you couldnt have a Horde and Alliance character on the same server. That was 2 days before OB ended.

I made it in reference to PvP servers the way they are setting themselves at.

So far its been a lot of communication between guilds to establish who is where, and what side they will be on.

From a PvP perspective, it appears that most of the organized PvP guilds have pledged to play as horde, where as alliance doesnt seem to have the same ratio.

On a non pvp server things will be different probably and I do see a lot more roleplayers on non pvp servers going as alliance, but thats more open to debate than my previous comment.

Actually I think on Server Test 9 there was probably 60/40 split in favour of the Alliance. I hope most of the servers get a pretty even split in the population, even at 60/40 that doesnt bother me so much. 70/30 would be getting very difficult.

It will be up too a few key individuals and a few key guilds to motivate the masses to destroy the enemy. I saw some horde raids that had good number turn out in the beta, lets hope that continues, but is much more organised. Pick up raids will fail against the better, more organised defenses of both sides post-retail. Organisation and strategy and getting turnout will be the key to victory.

    Personally...

    LONG LIVE THE HORDE!!!!

Im not so sure that its stupid.  It does make some sence, but I would have to agree with both of you.  While there will be a lot of Night elf noobs (probably hunters), I did still see quite a bit of organized action on the alliance side especially in the final hours of the OB.  Maybe just a last ditch effort? :)

Well Thats EXACTLY correct. I know a half Dozen Old UO guilds playing on the First Alphabetical PvP server, and playing as horde. With a total of over 150 members PRIOR to release.

I've yet to hear of any huge amounts of established guilds going alliance aside from my guild, Fate's End.

Well, I'm on the Alliance; well going to be. Does that make me an unorganized "n00b"? Yes, ALiance is VERY unorganized and I try hard to get people to listen to me. I guess someoen has to stand out and give some orders. I guess I'll be that guy being leader/founder of Legends After War. It's people like me, DiE, FatesEnd (tell slighter I said hi ::::01::), and I think WMD are Alliance too that make the Alliance prosper. I've told my clanmates that after a few months we're going to switch to another server and play as the Horde for a bit. It's all how you want to play. Preference really.

I am totally going for the Horde.  This is mainly because I am tired of being the "Good Guys".  Its so played out for me.  I started a Troll Hunter and fell in love with the character.  And the Orgrimar city is the coolest as well as the quests.  I like how they made it (the Horde) not so "evil" but just their point of view.  My troll Hunter from the OB only got to lvl 15 but I did get to see a major portion of the Alliance areas (mostly through death lol) but it was amazing.
