betraying your FACTION?

hey folks, what's the words you all have been hearing about characters being able to do "traitor" missions and jump factions? Is there a way for a forsaken to see the light and become an alliance down the line?

Can a Paladin turn dark, ie: Arthas, and sell his soul to the horde? Just wondering what folks have heard about this possibility of jumping factions? Character's features could also change a bit if they jumped factions... kinda like in FABLE.

I think it'd be a great idea for a high level (maybe 40+) characters to have the ability to do. As long as it's not overdone, the quest is challenging enough to prevent folks from spamming this ability over and over, etc.

any thoughts? has this been addressed by Blizzard? oh and you cant go back. what done is done. what do yall think.

Since when did Arthas join the horde? As far as i know he joined the Scourge.

Anyway back to topic, Yeah why not I like the idea to be free to choose to be a "bad" guy or a "good" guy among my own faction and then belong to a new one.

EDIT : Oh and it would make more sense to the reputation system :p

A realy cool idea. I think you ssuold sugest it to blizzard. It would be cool to have an undead on the alliance side. That looks happy, and smiling and hopping around dancing a YMCA! LMAO!
Yeah it is a good idea. But it could have major disadvantages in PvP. Where you meet a undead, thinkin "ah a friend" then suddenly being killed, by XX attacks. It will probably be other disadvantages. But as I said before. A REALY COOL IDEA::::20::::::24::::::20::::::24::::::28::

Yeah deal with it, or else ::::15::

i like the idea of betrayal. it could add some interesting twists to the game later down the line i would think. the quests would need to be extremely difficult in order to prove your faith to the opposing faction.

a horde night elf.. hmmm image

however the idea is being done in EQ2 currently when you become level 15 you have a betrayal quest. http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/QeynostoFreeportBetrayal.php

Wait! You can't possibly want something in WoW that is already in EQ2!? That goes against the Official WoW Fanboi Code.

    Heheh j/k.

And yes I think this would be a nice idea, but you would have to be a very high level/hero, and have to finish some long, challanging quest.

ya htta is the point. you have to be high with good stuff on ya. its a solo quest or if you can get some friends to go with ya then you can do it in a group. you have to be a hero. if your level 60 but no hero then no you cant do it. or you would have alot of level 60 people goign from side everytime.

Wicked idea, something i've thought about too.

I'd love to be a Dark Elf.

good idea, and once u switch sides, there's no switching back, making people think more about it, rather than doing it recklessly over and over.

This perception that the Horde are evil and the Alliance are good is something that needs to go asap. Why, as a human are you innately good? Certainly real human history doesnt back that up, but thats another story...

Horde isnt evil, there just the enemy of the Alliance, and vice versa. Only people that think Humans and Elves are "godly" beings would believe that.

Onto the question though, I wouldnt mind seeing a little bit more politics enter into the game via questing for sure, would be cool to be able to betray your chosen side in some way, adds another element to gameplay. It would probably also be a very difficult path to follow, as neither side would trust you, like being suspected of being a doubly spy in the cold war lol. Lots of issues to consider though for it work, like would there be safe zones for betrayers? At what level of betrayel would you be considered hostile to your original side? Would betrayers be pvp flagged automatically in there old neighbourhood?...Would make a nice addition some time in the future.
