the word that best describes WOW for me. Its just good old FUN, in the way that it has thrown all the annoying parts, of MMOs out and kept all the parts that work, and refined em to a very high standard.

No matter how "cartoonish" some of the people say this game looks I think the artwork and how stuff fits is beatiful. GREAT Art and Detail---(Stomrwind, Ironforge, Orgrimmar etc.)
i've waited several years playing other mmorpgs and of course diablo, warcraft, starcraft and always asked myself "why isnt Blizzard making an MMORPG?" you can image my excitement the first time i heard about it. i was definitely full of anticipation.
and relief.. well relief that finally a game is coming out that i can see myself in for a few years. i was growing awfully tired of playing mmo's that lost my excitement after 3 months of gameplay.
WoW has freed me from the repetitive grind-fest that is Lineage 2. You're also free to explore the world as you like vs the linear paths found in Guild Wars. You won't always survive given the difficulty of mobs in higher level areas and/or enemy players who attack you but the option is there.
WoW didn't wow me. It's a good game with good graphics with good gameplay. I would have liked to say it's a great game with great graphics with great gameplay.
WoW didn't offer anything new as MMORPG's go. I was hoping to see something that would surprise me. Something more inventive. It's just another fantasy game with nothing new.
I was not going to purchase WoW, since I'm already playing City of Heroes, but a few of my old buddies from AC will be getting WoW, so it would be nice to play with them again.
I'm looking forward to MEO and D&D, although I haven't seen any surprises from them either. I hope someone will look outside the box and actually come out with a fantasy game that we can all say "WOW!"
EQ had totally driven my enjoyment of MMORPG's not only into the ground, but well through it and approaching Hades. Then I played WoW and I am overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the promise of enjoyment it holds - now I just shiver in antici ..........................................................
