I wanted to take a break from all the troll fourm readings and what not so, I wanted to open a light hearted thread about......DND! I love DnD it is really fun. I play a good amount. Life comes 1st of course but when i can i get players togather and we have a huge quest. It lasts for a long time and every one gos home the next day with smiles and jokes of last nights game. But i got a poll here to pick what class's you play. Please share your exprinces with PnP DnD or even the DDO game. I am more into 3.0 to 3.5 then anything lower or higher.

Barbarian. There is nothing like charging head on and killing. Well it's my tactic in most game tbh.
I am actually playing tomorrow night. We have 7 damn people this time! I am playing a wizard. We are playing 4.0. I really like it soo much better. For the past two sessions we have been using a battle mat and figurienes its soo much better!
I've never actually played DnD tabletop, was before my time I suppose, but in games like NWN, Baldurs gate, and DDO i've always played a Barbarian.
Love to rage personally
I ususally play a cleric for the most part. If not a cleric then some sort of fighter. The ironic thing is that I'm very good at playing a cleric but I not all that religious! Go fig!!
*Plays a dirge*
I play the "slacker" class, you know, the class that stands around with a silly exclamation mark over their head and waits for an adventurer to run up and ask what quest they can do for me.
It's a popular class, in every MMORPG I've ever played the slackers outnumber the adventurers.
Vampire monk, because there is nothing better than having 10 attacks per round and drain 10 levels per round also
A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.
By process of elimination I play a rogue or barbarian, I don't like holy things, or nature things, or magic and I am not much for heavy armor and I prefer to be chaotic neutral, so there we go.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
Haven't played DnD in years, but that is definitely where my passion for rpg's and eventually mmo's started.
Edit: The co-creator of D&D recently passed away - RIP

For me it's a tossup between a fighter and a barberian. I like hand to hand combat and dislike healing or casting magic. The thing is my fighters or barberians are generally not heavily armored. I tend to focus a lot more on offense then defense simply because I believe that if I kill them fast enough they don't have time to harm me.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Monk.....l like running around with a big target on my back...

Half-Celestial, Half-Human Paladin.
Am I the only one who picked Bard?

Paladin
most definitely Paladin
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
I've only played Neverwinter Nights, I made a Fighter first, but got bored and rolled a Wizard.
I started playing D&D (1st edition rules) back in the mid 80's with my roomies and a couple of friends. It was my intro to RPG's and it also got me interested in computer gaming when the SSI AD&D Gold Box games came out. Eventually I gave up table-top gaming and went strictly to computer gaming for many years. Now I've all but given up on computer gaming and have come full circle back to table-top gaming. While computer gaming offers great sensory candy, both visual and audial, it still lacks the very thing that made old school D&D great....human interaction. Nothing can beat a group of people getting together in the same room and interacting. Be it planning a battle, roleplaying, joking, arguing or just hanging out To me the digital medium has not been able to capture that feeling just yet.
