Hey all,
I was looking (without any luck) a PVP Arena oriented online game. I'm not strictly looking for an MMO style of game, just an online action game focused on creating and gearing up a character by just fighting with other players. No world, no PVE, nothing, just arenas, abilities and gear. Do you guys know about any? I played one once, I think it was korean, player actually had the chance to buy items and extra experiencie paying real money, but sadly I don't remember the name
Thanks in advance for the info guys!

Fury Online (unleash the fury)
I think it was.
But I think it is dead, not sure.
You should check out guild wars. there you can make pvp only chars and you just gear up through pvp and get new skills etc. Its only arena pvp aswell i think.
Currently Playing Path of Exile
Counterstrike
This.
At char creation you choose PvP or PvE. PvP characters start at level cap with some good gear, then all you do is fight in arenas for better gear.
As some other people have mentioned, Guild Wars fits what you're after pretty well. It has a PvP side and a PvE side, but they're kept pretty separate so that you can easily do either one without the other.
Guild Wars has no monthly fee. If you only want to PvP, you'll have to pay $20 to buy the PvP access kit, but that's only a one time fee. You can buy skill and item unlock packs for $10 each; a skill unlock pack unlocks hundreds of skills for you; the item unlock pack unlocks all of the items in the game. You can only have eight skills on your skillbar at a time, so you don't really need everything unlocked to be competitive; it only makes you more versatile, not stronger. You can also unlock individual skills or items via PvP.
If you only want a couple dozen skills and the items specific to one particular class, unlocking everything you want via PvP is pretty quick. If you want to unlock everything, it takes a long time to do that via PvP.
If you only do PvP in Guild Wars, you'll only be able to create PvP characters. A PvP character starts at the level cap with max armor and max damage weapons, though you'll be missing some armor and weapon mods initially until you unlock them.
Oh, nice!
It just happens I actually have all Guild Wars games and expansions with an account (played just a few hours in the PVE mode of the game), so, in case I wanna focus in the PVP, ¿what do I need to get access to all the weapons and abilities available for the PVP? I'm forced to buy those ability packs on the NCSoft store, or I already have them because of having an account with all the expansions registered?
They are seperate from the games. You can play PvP without them and work your way up the hard way or get them with real money, your call.

Exteel. Its a fun fast paced pvp action morpg. Its F2P but you can pay real money for credits to use in the game. Your character is a mechanaught which you buy abilities, armor parts, and weapons for. Game types are DM, TDM, CTF, Territory Control, and Last Stand which is a pve defend against enemy waves type.
I'm too slow n_n
If you've already got all of the campaigns and the expansion, you're set. The PvP access kit is a cheaper way to get access to everything for PvP, on the basis that it doesn't also give you access to PvE.
The relevant concept here is that of unlocking skills and items. In order to use a skill or item on a PvP character, you have to have unlocked it. Unlocking skills and items is by account, so if you unlock one with one character, all PvP characters on that account, both existing and to be created in the future, have access to it. There are three ways to unlock skills and items (or maybe more that I don't recall):
1. Acquire the skill with a PvE character. For a skill, this can be either as a quest reward, purchased from a trainer, or (in the case of elite skills) captured from a slain boss with a signet of capture. For an item mod, this has to come from using an identification kit on an unidentified item, and happening to get the rune, inscription, etc. You can thus directly go buy the particular skills you want, but to unlock a particular item takes either some luck or identifying a huge number of items.
2. Use Balthazar faction to unlock it. The various types of PvP all give you Balthazar faction for killing things, winning a match, etc. You can spend the faction points to unlock particular skills or particular item mods. Here, you can pick whichever ones you want, in whichever order you want.
3. Buy the skill or item unlock pack. There is a skill unlock pack for each campaign and expansion, as well as one for the core skills that can be obtained in every campaign. The item unlock pack gives you all items. The unlock packs cost $10 each, so it's $60 to get all of them. Everything that the unlock packs give you can also be done by either of the above methods, though unlocking every single item via PvE would take an incredibly long time. I've personally unlocked all of the skills by getting them in PvE, though it took me the better part of a year. It likely would have been much faster if I had been more focused on unlocking things, rather than it happening only as a side activity as I mainly did quests and missions.
What the unlock packs do is let you get everything quickly and easily, so if you buy all the packs, your characters will immediately be as strong as they can ever possibly be, at least for PvP purposes. They're all just one time fees, not a recurring monthly payment.
Imo your best bet is to play one of this so called f2p fps games where you earn exp the more you kill and can unlock weapons etc...or if you want quality just get cod4 / tf2
If fps games are not your thing id recommend rakion (http://rakion.softnyx.net) its f2p tho
