New Blizzard game?

in World of Warcraft
Well...World of Warcraft is just around the corner, Blizzard Handed off Starcraft ghost to Vivendi or something....Blizzard will then be out of a product to be making...Any of you have any idea's what Blizzard might be up to over there?  I'm excited about WoW just to see the 'PREVIEWS' List on the Startup window...if theres a new Cinematic trailer for a new game...I'm gonna pee my pants...Thoughts? Comments?  What do YOU think is gonna happen?

    I don't think there is a new cinematic for anything with WoW. They already said there would be no patch at retail, and I'm sure someone who got their game already would have mentioned it if it was on the CDs.

    As for what Blizzard does next, I don't know and don't really care... This is my first Blizzard game so it doesn't really matter to me. ::::35::

    Aww How sad to hear that...I've been a Blizzard fan since Super Nintendo with the Justice League Taskforce Fighting game! Whoa! Justice League TWO! HAHA, No...And It better not be like D3 or something....OMG! What if its a new game completly? No more Warcraft or Starcraft? Whats gonna happen!? I'm sooo Pumped!

    I believe it will be World of Warcraft II: The 8-Bit Version.

    Yea, I got a NES emulator and have been playing Fianl Fantasy I for the past 3 days...::::07::

    Funny, that crossed my mind as well.

    Here is what I think are the possibilities:

    1) *Most likely*, Blizzard will strive to create an expansion pack for WoW. Lets face it, the MMORPG market is going to be even more crowded next year, and they need to keep everyone interested while attracting new players. WoW is gonna be the money for a while, so they will work on the money. What could this be? Who knows - I can tell you two things that would kick ass INHO:
    - Play as the Burning Legion, can you imagine?
    - Play as the Naga, how cool would that be
    * If either of these two are done, I hope the classes are more unique

    2) Diablo III. This would be tough, and another hugely competitive market that Blizzard hasn't entered in 4 years. I don't know, their loyal fan base would buy the game, but it would have to be one kick ass game to compete.

    3) Starcraft II. Maybe - hell they could use the engine that Warhammer used, and the game would rock. Maybe Blizzard stops reinventing the wheel and licenses another engine? Doubtful.
    * Take on this, wishful thinking.

    4) Starcraft MMORPG. Possible. Not sure how they would do it - but given the current technologies, why not? It would be beyond kick ass if done right.

    5) Diablo type MMORPG. Hard to see this, the storyline might not be strong enough.

    I bring up types of MMORPGs with their games because they now have the engine for it (WoW's engine). So we aren't talking totally new code, just revamped code.

    These are what I can think of off the top of my head.

    a lot of people have been asking for starcraft II or a starcraft mmorpg but i'm not so sure... i'm thinking blizzard may be looking to expand their game base which would mean they may take on a totally new game all together. I do believe that they will be working on at least one expansion for WoW but i don't see that being their soul focus. I personally think that they will come up with (or already have) a completely new game idea that is different than what they have done and shock/awe us all again.

    Even if I was playing WoW, I would still play a Diablo style Multiplayer, Whatever they do I am sure it will be done with Blizzards usual panache...

    Diablo III? Why hell, I only played II for 3 years....lets see World of Diablo. Be a sorc shooting 33,000 damage fireballs while teleporting everywhere. Booya.

    I've been a blizzard fan since Warcraft. Sorry justice leaguer. I think they've done the RTS to death. I'm ready to see something new from them. I mean Starcraft II would rock and DIII would be interesting, but I think its time to stretch their creative mind into something truly new. A new world for them to exploit in twelve different games.

    Oh and for thoise who didn't know. A few of D2's best programmers are hard at work with Guild Wars. SO if you're looking for a new Diablo, Guild wars might be right up your alley. AND NO MONTHLY FEE!!

    Unless you haven't noticed by now, Blizzard isn't one to innovate. They jsut take games that have previously, perfect them and then through their logo on it. Im no Bliz basher, I have loved every game they've made, save for WoW. I would love to see them tackle some big new project, as long as its:

    A) Innovative, and something NEW

    B) NOT A MMORPG.

    definitely starcraft 2. i'm a big fan of RPGs, but starcraft was one of the best selling RTS games ever. matter fact there's probably still people playing 24/7.

    Besides working on WoW I don't know what Blizzard would do now...

    They went big with RTSes.... Tha warcaft series, and of course Starcraft. Going MMORPG was an exciting new path they chose, as well as a FPS like Ghost... (wheter they finish it theirselves or not).

    Introducing Naga or Blood elves in WoW is indeed something they can add with relative ease... most of the concept art is there, and the map leaves enough room for a vast underwater world to explore... (Gnomish Subs!!!!).

    The only thing I hope is that they don't make lousy spin offs of excisting concepts. Like they did on the Nintendo.... Mario RPG's Mario Kart etc... It ruins the legend of an original. (not really worried due to the quality released so far).

    I wouldn't be surprised though, if Blizzard would shock the gaming world once more with another new astounding concept....

    We can only hope... :D

    STARCRAFT 2!!!!!

    I would hope it was my favorite game back then and it is still very fun.

    But lets hope when they make a new one they wont destroy it like warcraft 3
    its not bad but it was changed alot.

    I think they have said there will be a patch.  (unless you are talking specifically about the cinematic)

     

    When responding to questions about deleting the beta client the devs said that the beta client would be more current then the CD version.  Nothing about cinematics, but if you have the beta client it may still be useful.
