Both EB stores in my city ran out, and all computer related stores also ran out. Gonna have to wait for the next shipment.

Please change the comment, everywhere is not the USA
Does anyone know a confirmed date for when its out in Europe?
Well not in úp here in sweden(EU)
Don't know what everywhere is, but in EU they are still not out. You can't even pre-order yet, have to wait up to friday. And open beta has still to take place.
Also if I'm not mistaken, Blizzard don't suggest to buy the USA version for the ppl in EU and best wait for the first quarter of 2005 (think februari). So please change the comment and make it correct.

If USA is everywhere, would Europe then be nowhere?

This looks like a little mmorpg.com payola.

Im pretty sure the final game will reach Europe in the early days of January (2005). The EU beta will start the 26th of November (that is what they've said).
It'll be a great idea preordering the game otherwise i don't think you'll get it right away because it's pretty small shipments.
In Denmark people are able to pay 100dkr to play the open beta, and when you're buying the game the 100dkr will be taken of the normal price. That's a great thing. It's like that in other countries?
Mcluzy out
In Australia the "simultaneous" release had problems too:
"
We regret to inform you that we are unable to allocate you with World of
Warcraft PC as we were badly shortshipped by Vivendi Australia.
According to Vivendi, Blizzard halted production due to server capacity
limitation but they are working on upgrading their systems at this time.
We do understand your situation, as we are very very disappointed at our
end too.
We are receiving more stock of the Standard edition early next week.
Should you wish to keep your preorder with us, we will reward your
patience by bundling in the 60-days World of Warcraft Game Card at ONLY
$19.95 (Retailed at $39.95) for every copy of World of Warcraft
preordered - plus you will still receive FREE express shipping."
Guess I gotta wait few more days. I guess at least I will get to finish the free 30 days of EQ2 before leaving it behind and going to WoW

Yes. US-only release sucks.
I had decided not to buy the game even if it was coming more and more interesting: MMORPGS require too much time and having to pay a 30-days-in-a-row fee, it didn't sound quite appealing.
Then I signed in for open beta and tried it out. I got so amazingly involved in the game that I began to reconsider my original thought, even if I knew it would be a waste of money paying the monthly fee while I don't have the time to play the game the time it should be played (i.e. all day and night long )
When I tried to order US version (Collectors' Edition - Yummy!) and discovered it couldn't be sold outside USA I got angry. I know Blizzard may want to know if the game's success is enough to justify creating European and Asian servers, but they also have the proof that US servers can afford to sustain clients from europe too (since open beta was worldwide), so why not distributing the game here in Europe too right now?
I'm not blaming Blizzard's marketing policies, but now that I cannot play it for free maybe I could try it out for another free month by buying the retail version. But we have to wait two, maybe three months an I wonder if it will be the same when the game comes out here, will my hype and my longing for playing this game be the same when it reaches europe? I hope so, otherwise Blizzard may have made its first mistake in a long time of well devised policies, but surely with plenty of time to think about it, when the game will be available here maybe I'll think twice before buying it because of my time shortage for gaming, while now I could have bought it just because I miss it after the bete.
Only time will tell...
Any rumour about a European Collectors' Edition?
What about us up here in Canada, eh? Always forgotten..
*expects an edit with "North American stores everywhere" very shortly*
We, 'The rest of the world' or 'International' folks are basically screwed...
So what you have are people from 4 countries (US/CAN/AUS and NZ) playin, the rest have to wait.
Would prolly subscribe to EQ2 just to pass the time. ;P
"in stores everywhere!"
except in europe.
sigh
Wonder if someone in the US shipped you guys over seas a copy of the game if it would work? Can't see why not unless you dont speak english or they have the EU domains blocked or something like that.
Heck might be worth 60 - 70 bucks to try it out.
Sorry you guys have to wait, but I'm sure its for a reason. Blizzard wants your money just as badly as they want (and got) ours.
The game will work from europe too, but Blizzard instructed vendors not to sell it oversea.
The reason is they don't want to stress US servers with clients from all over the world (that would cause poor performance both for oversea and US customers) and meanwhile they want to understand if opening EU servers is worth the cost. If it is the case, we will have both game and servers with low ping. Otherwise they will only export the game and we'll have to go along with lag
heh 1st printing is evidently nearly sold out.
Just got rejected by 2nd vendor(Outpost.com, first was ChipsNbits) through online ordering.
Software export restriction was the reply???
Uughh... didn't know my country has softwares sanctioned from the US...
Darn, just the other day, i saw our PM walking alongsite Bush at APEC meets...
Bureaucrates, bah!
They prolly thinks we could learn to how to make bombs by playing an Gnome/Alchemist!
and oh, I'm living in country next to Singapore.
I wrote to EBGames to ask about the game not selling outside US and the reply was that Blizzard restricted them to sell in US territory only.
Your PM may also play golf and go shopping with Bush, but the problem is the decision was made by Blizzard's CEO. Maybe your PM should call and have some time with them
We'll wait...and then we'll laugh for a couple of years when we'll find out that monthly fees in Europe are higher than those in US; I'm betting on that. 14.95$/month? Probably it would be 14.90/month, maybe more, and goodbye to Euro strenght on Dollar
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
No. WoW was not insanely popular at launch. Game was broken at launch. I do not believe you were there. It had the Warcraft brand following, and that attracted customers, but it was a horrible experience for the first 6 months.
Back to the future.
