Not sure who Seyfried is but, that flying combat looks entertaining. Are you always flying around in the Abyss?
Yea it's a must, The abyss is like a bunch of islands and land masses floating around in space so you must have flight to get from one to the next.

is there any PVP below level 50 or is it like how DAOC old school use to be ... PVE till max level and then go out and start your PVP game.
Random PvP encounters start around lvl19-20, At lvl25 PvP is non-stop in the Abyss (if the other faction is around your area).

I got a question: Is the Abyss the ONLY place to be from 25 to 50? or can you still level by quests in other zones? And if there are other zones, are they contested for both Asmo and Elyos, or each faction has its own?
Each faction has a main land and you can lvl all the way to max and not go to the abyss if you like. There are rifts (portals) that open on each factions main land so that Asmo can go into elyos main land and pvp or vice versa. These portals don't open all the time but there are quite a few of them starting from zone lvl20 up to lvl50 area's.
