Im going to try this game out but I have some questions. Whats a good template If I want to go with a sword? Ive been reading about AC a little and I guess I need item and life magic. What would you suggest to train and to spec in? Also would FrostFell be a good server to start in? I know they are noob questions but this game seems interesting and I want to give it a shot. Also, How do you use bots when you see them? Thankyou

Im a UA (unarmed) toon and i think sword is similar so I would start with 100 coord/str and 100 quickness. I did 100 coord/str 70 quick and 30 focus since I ama 3school melee. Obviously you would want to spec sword,melee def and magic def. I started playing AC again Jan 17th this yr (09) after over a 8 year break (quit to play AC2 = big mistake) and Im lvl 176. The bots make it alot easier to level and catch up with everyone else, All you do is walk up to buff bots and tell them your weapon, in your case you would tell the bot......SWORD and then if you want yout item,critter, and life magic buffed you would say....3SCHOOL You can also tell a bot HELP and they will give you the commands to use.
I spec UA, magic def, melee def, arcane lore,and creature magic. I have life magic, item magic, and healing trained. I did not train missile def and at 180 will switch to spec life and train creature. I personally chose VT server at random but I doubt you could go wrong with frostfell. I am completly hooked again, just wish they would do alittle more advertising to get the populations back up. The free 14 day trial is a good start. After all these years AC is still the best MMORPG out there, it might not have the best graphics but ill take better gameplay over graphics any day of the week.

The best thing about the game currently is buff bots. They are automated bots that help lowerlvl and even some higher level players by buffing them. There is one in just about all starter towns and in the marketplace. I would suggest starting in Yaraq, blue opal and sartain opal are there. Just /t <buff bots name>,help and it will list commands. When you get high enough just tip the buff bots to cover their Platinum scarabs. You don't need magic skills due to the fact that buff bots give you level 7, 2 hour buffs and its easy as portal recalling right back to the buff bot.
As far as sword spec, as a new player, Specializing Melee Defense and Sword is a solid build.
Spec: Sword, Melee Defense, magic defense
Trained: Item enchantment, healing
100 str
10 end
100 coord
60 quick
50 focus
10 self
Thanks for the info but I just cant seem to play the game. I want to but I get stuck ofer logg in. I patched the game fine, Im not using a router. I just freeze after i portal in. I can see a guy in blue and see people chat. I get the lost connection after a min. I already went over the forward port stuff and fire/AV stuff. Nothing seems to work. I use vista 64. I even had a tech guy from my isp help me out but nothing. I wanted to play AC so bad
