The death in the U.S. is actually 50/50 on whether or not it qualifies. Just like Birth, Death is officiated by death certificates which are signed by the physicians that declare the patient dead.

The young Mexican child (in this case) was declared dead by physicians in a Texas Hospital, thus was written a likewise death certificate. When the next census comes about, the recorded dead will be listed, including him. Making him a death of the United States, and thus, a recorded U.S. Death.

This is a technical standard, which is how deaths are recorded, so whether or not anybody is Mexican, European, etc. If they have a child in the U.S., the child is American. If they die in the U.S., they are a recorded U.S. death.

Yes.  If a pregnant foreign woman were to cross into the U.S.A. and give birth, the child would be an American citizen.

One of the controversies, interestingly, during the campaign was whether McCain was a "natural born" citizen:

    Art. II. (executive):

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The swine flu in the above table, however, refers to the 1976 swine flu.  The current swine flu lacks an important protein unlike the 1976 one that makes it less virulent.

Did you see the 1976 swine flu commercial:  www.youtube.com/watch

The government launched a massive vaccination program and the head of the CDC ultimately lost his job.  40,000,000 vaccinations were gien to people, sodliers were isolated and quarantined at Fort Dix.  After vaccination, there was an increase in Guillain-Barre syndrom, which is a neurological disorder causing paralysis.

This goes back to the good old  saying of those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it. You can go just as recent as the Bird (Avian) Flu. Yes, I understand how its not a mammal, and is thus less connected and in possibility to spreading to humans. But as a result, schools across the U.S. started imposing Anti-Viral soaps into the hygeine system. As a result, they couldnt handle it (due to costs, and this was before the recession) and decided not to use it. Now a real threat comes, and due to cutbacks and costs, nobody can use the anti-viral soap.

However, people should be cautious. Viruses and Bacteriums evolve and upgrade and lead to epidemics and pandemics twice every 100 years. Now that we influence MANY chemicals and agents, that may multiply.
