They gotta do something to make all the hippie earth muffin factions more appealing. I definitely dont want to see a "half of all players in the game are techs" situation.
Thats basically what happened in EVE...they made the Caldari too appealing and now everyone wants to be Caldari.
hmmm i'm torn between enforcers or travelers ..... Guess it depends if i want to use pistols or rifles.

The question of what could be dreadful about this game popped up in this post, without getting too much into detail, the game at current is like playing an FPS with a ping of 800...
You can go into first person and it helps, but all and all its just tough. Mobs are designed to be half way smart and they will attempt to strafe you and not take dmg, well mixed with "lag" this becomes an issue when a solo lower level mob can do a doozy on you. I only say "lag" because in most games or betas lag can be an issue, but normally at one time or another you are lucky enough to see what it looks like w/o said "lag" so far not the issue here.
The game itself is well, a new rendition on a sandbox game, sadly at current its very much favoring the "alts" i want to say, or late comers to the game. Its very easy to get high weapon skill, but hard to get a weapon for that skill. Due to the weight of items and such and it being expensive/hard to find, ammo is a PITA and crafters will have there nitche.
I will stop at what i have said so far, as some folks won't like this much and it will be nit picked. I will say this tho, yes the game can improve, the "lag" might be taken care of... you can get over the graphic quality and the overall feel to the game... (low budget). But in a current state, out of the MANY MANY games i have beta tested this one has been the hardest to log in for me. Something about the current game just doesn't grab you, and the world feels like a big turn off.... hard to describe.
Before i get attacked personally i have beta tested just about every mmo in the past 5 years, and worked at SCEA as a QAA (Quality Assurance Annalysist) the game is just rough right now, i would say its actully less enjoyable then SWG was in its beta for those who know the reference. It's a game with potential, and i do wish the best for it and those who plan to stay with it.... But it has a long way to go before it should see the light of day, sadly i belive it won't get the time it needs.
What don't you like about the world, to bland? To grim? To cheesy?

It was a toss-up between Techs and Lightbearers. Sort of even liked the idea about the tree-hugging vistas and the wandering Travellers. But in the end the Techs drew me as they appear to be the faction that mostly will have control over crafting stations and such.
The cool thing about FEs faction template is that you can start as one and "migrate" to others as your ideals change...its very adaptive and adds alot to the ability to fully develop a characters background as one develops...
For instance start as a Tech and end as a Traveler at higher levels...sort of the geek goes hood idea lol
Personaly I am going for the tried and true "fall from grace"...rather "fall to insanity" in this case...
Going to start as an Enforcer then progressively migrate all the way through LB and Vista and end as a CHOTA...where I will remain doing bad things to people...every story needs a bad guy....see you on the battlefield girls...

You will find that this is very nearly impossible, unless you do it VERY early in your faction career.
When you gain faction, you LOSE faction with opponents... and you always lose twice as much as you gain.
If you gain 1000 faction with a faction, you also gain 500 with its allies... and lose 2000 with its enemy, and 1000 with each of the enemy's allies.
Wandering 'around the wheel' just ends up with you being KOS to ALL factions.
All I know is... I want to be scary to people wherever they go ....muahahahahahaha!!!!!! oops sorry lost myself for a moment, we shall have to see when more data comes out but probably Chota *grins*

Incorrect...you would not be KOS to all factions....as you progress around the wheel you faction rating would move in kind....
Each faction move would require longer time in that faction to recoupe and evently go positive enough to move and take direct missions from the next faction...it can be done...but yes it would not be quick...unless done very early in level and then whats the point.
Its a journey for sure...and thats kind of the point.

I've changed my mind, a friend of mine told me a rumor that Vistas can train multiple wild animals. From what he told me Vista faction players have the potential of making an army of tamed animals. I hope the rumor is true.

my original intention was to play techs because i liked the idea of maintaining technology and all that, but now it seems that on here and on the official forums a large majority of people seem intent on going tech so i think im gonna go for travelers as i like the idea of being a merchant and i like the dark persona.
I really think if the game is to be a moderate success they need to give more appeal to some of the less popular factions to save the game ending up a techfest.
I'm thinking maybe Tech. I always go range rather than melee. Enforcers are good with rifle and pistol, but I'm not sure they appeal to me otherwise. Tech are good with pistol only, but their tradeskills appeal to me. The thing with FE seems to be that the group you might feel inclined to on philosophical grounds might not be the one with skills you favour.
I'm starting to get excited about FE anyway. Looks like the game for me, if the art isn't too off-putting.

Probably lightbringer or vista depending on how skills play out.
I voted tech, but really, I'm probably going to look at a poll like this closer to launch and play the lowest played faction other than CHOTA.
