Something that has totally surprised me is how much I am enjoying the exploration.
I've played dozens of MMOs, and DF is the only one that I actually enjoy exploring in.
For example, I've been in need of iron ore, but I seem to always run into used up nodes, or I get ganked mining in a populated area.
Well, I decided to take a hike and search out good mining locations, and I've actually had fun doing it. I found my own little chain of secluded islands full of iron with a bank just a short swim away. Business has been good.
While the graphics are subpar, the world is actually crafted beautifully. It's huge, but it doesn't have the feel of being synthetically generated like Oblivion. For example, I'll be off in the wilderness away from any city, when all of a sudden I'll come across some huge statue with a waterfall next to it. My reaction was "Awesome". I've been getting cool moments like this quite often.
The reason this is such a surprise to me is that I've always been a PvPer, and I've never had fun in an MMO doing anything else but PvP until this point.
Yes, the game is overly grindy. Yes, it takes too long to get decent gear. Yes, mob HP and loot is completely out of whack. These are all major problems, but the game is not all bad. The PvP is exciting and meaningful, and the world is beautiful.
If Adventurine keeps losing players at the current rate, the game will be gone in a matter of months. Play and enjoy the game while you still can! There is still much enjoyment to be had!

How nice you finally found out the purpose of Darkfall.
Explore the beautiful scenery, watch the virtual daisies grow and watch the pixel trees sway to the winds. Take some pictures near a waterfall with friends and enjoy a dive in the crystal clear waters of it or go and fish in it. Visit the ancient ruins and witness in awe and marvel at the wonders of ages past,hey, don't worry most of them are empty *wink,wink* .And what is a more perfect ending for this perfect day? A nice leisurely cruise on your raft towards the setting sun with some virtual friends or that virtual special somebody with some complimentary virtual wine from AV as the shades of brown in the world slowly turn into black.
Darkfall the first virtual vacation simulator.Feel like a tourist without ever leaving the comfort of your own house.
Live your myth in Darkfall.

Exactly. And while I'm mindlessly grinding resources, I'm reading books and learning to play guitar.
Time spent playing DF can sill be enjoyable. You just have to be a little creative.

I've just seen this very nice add mentioning these words and since Greece is a major destination for tourists i thought i'd combine it with Darkfall somehow. It' s a pity that i don't have more time on my hands or i would've made a poster as well lol
