  Odin,

  Earthroot is an ingredient used for crafting potions. You can easely get it if you're a herbalist. So either get yourself the herbalist profession or if you don't want to drop any current professions, get 5 earth root from a herbalist. Some people will even give them away for free (I did anyway.)

  Few creatures drop them. But then you have to kill 50 of those creatures... rather spend 1 silver, wouldn't you say?

  If you're an Herbalist, you can usually find the near trees on top of a hill. But, they are fairly common so just ask to buy some for 1S. I don't think I've killed anything yet with my Priest that has dropped them; I find Mageroyal off the Timberlings near the water but no Earthroot.

  Are you sure it isn't like that one quest in the NE newbie area, where you had to get the petals to make the antidote. If it is a quest you need them for, maybe it will allow you to gather what you need? You should try and see if you get the little "gold gear thing".

  Earthroot mainly grows near hill/mountains, it would grow out of the ground like peacebloom. It should be easy to find because you can search for it using the ability...
