EL has one of the best ingame helps i have seen. The ? icon than Encyclopedia. Say what you will about how it looks more programs need this type help in program. That and the click on the map to move.

That and the also mentioned friendly and helpful community, including 2 help channels moderated to keep them on topic. One for newbie help and a second for general help.
And the encyclopedia is used even by experienced players for reference. Rather than being a slow and condescending help document.
Also the tutorial NPC has a quest with a small prize at the end, with 3 basic parts rather than the slow and over-detailed 'tutorials' often seen.
To help if you're getting started (yes this could be better presented ingame) the chat works like a command line, which actually makes it very unfiddley to combine playing and chatting. "#jc 1" joins the newbie questions channel, and "@blah blah blah" posts the questions.
If you're worried about the moderation mentioned, the channel rules are pretty straight forward, and will result in temporary muting if broken. Just avoid spamming and chatting, posting websites and discussing game secrets/quests/coordinates.
The help within this game is amazing. I am a noob, so I asked a hell lot of questions. People on the other side just answered quick and easy.
I love EL. I have been friends w/ the developers of this game since 04. These guys just need a little time and money. The problem these days is there are too many Medieval style MMORPGS. When one joins one MMORPG, it takes years to become bored of that MMO and move to another. EL needs more publicity. It's time I made a full blown fansite+forum for EL.
Yeah the help in this game is amazing although at times you notice its not very specific, but hey you can't give away everything.
My biggest love is the infobot "Rraisa" who tells you who is selling/buying stuff for the highest which is an excellent feature and one I have been using alot.
