Should i get WoW ?

I dont know if i should get WoW because i keep hearing its to easy, ppl are at 60 in 2 weeks, combat is easy, dying doesnt matter Etc Etc. I'm looking for a mmorpg that i can spend a couple hours a day working on it. I like the long grinds and time it takes to level. And i dont like to craft if everyone can make the same product. So is WoW for me or should i keep searching ???

Combat is easy, it's fast like DAOC but without all the button mashing.

Dying is annoying but not excruciatingly so.  You have to return to where you died (so there's still a danger element), you can return there as a ghost (so you don't have to fight your way back down into a dungeon; still have to fight your way out, though), and your gear takes damage (so there's a cost associated with dying).  In summary, you lose a little game time and have to repair your gear, so there is a penalty, just not one which is too painful.

I think crafting is probably easy.  Fishing skill is very easy and somewhat fun to do.  You cast your reel, then watch the lure and have to rightclick if it splashes.  Somewhat interactive.   However, I don't see everyone crafting.

Game world is beautiful and vast.  You run into some hills that seem empty and find a cabin with a quest waiting.

Quest system is very, very good.  Finding quest NPC's is easy.  Doing quests is about the same as any other game, but since there is not much zoning, the quests are less of a hassle, in fact the quests are pretty fun and reasonably rewarding.  Also, the quests are quickly explained to you, rather than having you click through six windows of scripted game text and interaction.  I despise games that "force you" to talk to an NPC in an extended conversation.  A quest NPC in WOW might say "Hey, how are you?" then pop up one or two paragraphs of what he or she would like you to do, then you either click "accept" or "decline".  Much better than rapidly clicking past multiple text pop-up windows just to get to the end (you know which game I'm talking about).

You can solo in this game.

Racial starting cities and racial stats give your character the feeling of being a traveller when you venture into other places.

Interface is non-customizable (as far as I can tell) but absolutely well-thought out.  You can click directly upon your bags without having to pop-up an inventory screen.

Levelling is fast.  I have about 16 to 20 hours played and am level 13, but it is starting to slow down.  That's okay.

Only thing I find lacking, and which caused me to pre-judge and drop out of beta, was the character graphics being simple and cartoonish.  Think of the "Darkstone" game from 1997 and that's the level of character graphics.  However, the characters move realistically, the armor graphics are okay and the weapons graphics are nice.  Spell graphics are okay (vintage late EQLive, I'd say is a reasonable comparison).

Good mail system; good chat system.

Get past the character graphics (takes about two days to accept them for what they are and what you find is an immersive gameworld with smooth gameplay and very little hassle.  For new gamers or experienced gamers who are tired of "the grind", WOW is a pretty good game.

I have nothing against the character graphics. Sure they are cartoonish in a way but it makes the game look more like a warcraft 3 style with enhanced engine. The crafting is restricted to special "jobs" like smith and so on. So a smith can only craft weapons and metal stuff and needs to buy leather equipment or something like that from others. Crafting is easy and sometimes good to make money. I don't know anything about fast lvling, but I heard some guys used speedhacks or bots, so this could be your answer. I played us open beta from the beginning and just reached lvl 14, but I haven't played that intensive. I explored the area, crafted, quested and just had fun, I didn't care for lvling, expect some special times where I needed a special lvl to get something neat (weapon, cool skill etc.).

well i have a lvl 43 paladin i've used 7 days and 8 houres (ingame) to become lvl 43 and this is power lvling had some lvl 60 ppl to help me on quests that i was unable to do at my curent lvl

combat is easy with the auto atack mode but using youre skills right can be hard

crafting (tailoring, Blacksmitthing, leatherworking) is so much better then so may other mmorpgs becouse you cant buy the iteam unless if you use auction house (its some place you can sell all the stuff you find to other players instad of vendors and earn a lot of Gold) this requers lot of work and cash to lvl up in

questin i've heard some guy made it to lvl 14 whit out killing a single beast but most quest requres alot of killing ad colecting and becouse of the good xp gain this is how you power lvl and the hard quests gives you good iteams.

when you hit lvl 60 then there is a lot of dungeons were you have team up whit players around lvl 60 to defeat the "boss" some quest requres a groupe of 40 lvl 60 to defeat it and still some think of it a imposible 1 boss calle onyxia is still not defeatet and she is not close to the hardest raid bosses

they will also add a pvp honor system so you have to go PvP to become higher lvl in this if you reach a high lvl then you can buy some special iteam. this will take ALOT of time to become the highest lvl in this system

they also made some special quests at lvl 60 who are wery expencive and hard but the rewad is also godlike

and they are working on the expansion at the moment this will add hero classes this is something you have to do when you reach lvl 60 and this should also take some time

im addictive to this game so ill keep working when i reach lvl 60 ill start helping my low lvl guild mates defeat hard quests and buff them whit all the useless iteams i find so they can become lvl 60 and help me raid stuff :P

but there should be more then 90 day ingame life time in this game

I laugh at the fools that say the game is to easy (I guess meaning creeps) if its to easy why every where I go do I see people getting beat to death and asking for heals, running, or there corpses laying on the ground. Maverick trust me unless you run around kiling creeps 2-4 lvls under you you will find a challange, expecially as your char gets up there in levels... And as for people where at the max lvl in 2 weeks *BULLS$%$* nonone was at max lvl in two weeks (NOONE).. And if some little WOW basher wants to try to prove me wrong provide a name and server of the person that was suppose to be lvl 60 in two weeks..This is WOW and not COH (where people where soloing the end game boss two weeks out.

Bottom line this is the best MMORPG I have ever played and I have played a few

    AO,PS, AC2, Neocron, EA, EnB, EVE, Horizons,SWG (eww),COH (zzzz),DAOC, ect....

There are tons of things to do tons and this is just the first month.. Expansions will make this game even more complete. Besides even if you dont believe me what else is out there?

    That's because those people SUCK.

This game IS easy. It being easy in no way makes it BAD. But it is still easy.

The game is as hard as you make it.  There is no death penalty besides running back to your corpse so you can challange yourself.  You will get quests that are hard to solo for your level but you can always group up and do them easy.

In most games with a death penalty you do not challange yourself, in WOW I am always pushing the limits and I do die.  I am a casual player so I end up soloing a lot.

yes you should get WoW!!!! ofc you should...

about the "too easy"-part, its a allround game so the lower lvls is quite easy but it gets harder the better you get :)

and that 2 week to lvl 60 is most likly for the hardcore gamer, and with the new patch coming it will change (i hope) but wait and see untill the EU release becouse i thing allot will be changed by then the world is quite big and if your not spending every sec exping but maybe explore some the game will be even bigger,

but its all up to you in the end, if you want a good game to play i can recommend Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) with the newest expansion Trials of Atlantis (ToA)

for me.. i made my mind, im buying  :) but just wait and see when the release is made in EU :)

I think when people say the game is too easy, they arent necessarily talking about combat alone. If you always solo mobs a couple levels higher than you, you will find that to be dificult. I think they mean the game as a whole is too easy. Crafting is easy, leveling is easy, etc... There is no real chalenge to this game. you could keep soloing those high level mobs to make the game artificially dificult, but there is no need to as leveling is a breeze without them.

NO!  WoW is a good game, but thats hard to see because YOU CANT LOG IN HALF THE TIME!  Dont waste your time, too many server problems and patch screw ups.

Yes. Yes...YES! GET THE GAME! GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT! *is slapped* Sorry, I deserved that.

The game is amazing; the graphics have their own feel but are still amazing. The monsters are just as creative. While Character customisation is a let down at the begining, eventually you're character will look like no one else. Its great. And if you're into Role Playing, its definatly worth joining.

Get it I say. Just don't expect perfection, becuase it is far from perfect. But even if you play 10 hours a week for the included month it is worth it. Somewhere between the ones who proclaim it as the perfect MMORPG and those who detest it lies the truth.

    I miss DAoC

i played stress test and open beta. In my opinion, this game isnt much fun in the long run. Play it once, because it is just awesome to play in the warcraft world for awile, and the beginning quests are pretty fun.

Im big on pvp though, and warcrafts pvp leaves ALOT to be desired. No death penalities, close res locations, and no item drops makes it so you can come back to life within the mintue of being killed.

Once you get to high level, you need to pvp, as you have to quest and level in contested zones. Basically you will be owned by higher levels when your trying to exp. If you think you can just not pvp, i dont recommend this either. Its very easy to get to the maximum level, and unless you like spending all you time trying to get slightly better equiptment, this game gets old quick.

I reccommend, wait for mourning to come out in feb. Im downloading saga of ryzom now, i hear alot of people like that game better.
