Explain me F2P hate

I've noticed a general F2P hate on this forums, and I don't understand it.

A company give a free game to peoples, basically, and you cry about it? And to be honest, I played a lot of F2P games, and some of them have less bugs that P2P ones some times.

It's a free game basically... you like it you play it, NOBODY FORCE you to do it.... and if you go hardcore you can even buy items, that's OK in my opinion, I don't see anything wrong here.

Also... look at the market.. there are lots of good games coming.. seems like all game dev companies are doing an MMO... from where the hell to get players in all MMOs today? I will not be surprised if BIG names will go F2P as well... the future will probable focus on more F2P MMOS with items shop, since the competition is so big...

And just from my experience, if I did buy items in a F2P game what i like, i will probable did a better deal that buying lots of P2P overhyped craps from market who I didn't play more that 1-2 weeks.

    tokenizer,

There's no one hating on F2P games.

The hate goes to the scam-tastic way some run their cash shops. That's is where the problem lies.

My thread isn't about hating the game it's about the issues with the gambling nature of the cash shop.

    FishSeaMan,

Nobody force you to use the item shop, only if you really enjoy the game, lets say, you go hardcore you can do it.

But, you get a free game, free to play... the company behind the game don't get a penny from you, from where you want the to keep your game running? We all know there is nothing free in this world... so, I do NOT blame item shop items. Some peoples could use them, good for them.

Haha, I love threads like these. They make no difference, whatsoever, it's just a random rant by some random guy.

It's not so much about 'hate', as I play F2P MMOs, the problem is most of the F2P MMOs that are brought out for Western (North/Central/South America, Europe) audiences are a few years old, not to mention they keep drop rates the exact same when the game was in Asia, and that's a major problem, Westerners don't like to have to grind in a game to get somewhere and most games are grindfests to get to the next level becase of extremely low drop rates (XP, Gold, Items).

The cash shops are a problem when they are required to be used in order to advance in a f2p game. So the game isn't really free if you can't advance freely, it is just another P2P that is using a different kind of payment system. That has been my experience with most of these so called f2p games.

I guess if you have never experienced the cost of playing or the premise behind the design,yo uwil lalways be under a rock w/o the knowledge.

1... there is no such thing as a free game, someone has to pay for it,and these F2P games rely on the richer players to pay enough to keep servers going for the freebies. So in essence it is the players with money and the leechers.

2... F2P games are NOT complete games, they never have been and NEVER will be.You do NOT get the full complete game until you pay money through the item shop. This has nothing to do with bugs, anyhoot, all F2P games are such low tech and very old designs, that they could not possibly mess them up...aka WOW another cheap made, low tech game that shoud leasily be put out with polish and it was not, tehy messed up their earliest instance lol.On the topis of instance,it is like the simplest form of game construction known to gaming,so for a giant like Blizzard to mess up an instance,it does not boad well for their competance.

F2P games are not exempt from bugs ,as far as i am concerned ,lag is just as bad as a bug and most F2P games utilize over crowded servers and low bandwidth.

3..One of the BIGGEST belmishes on F2P games is the "chat" it is ALWAYS spammed by RMT gold selling and power leveling. The reason is because of the free accounts, they have NOTHING to fear for being banned, they just make another account using names like "imawejfishijgs".

4 F2P games are always at the lower end of the tech scale. What these games do is utilize some nice weapons and armour but molunt everything onto very low tech models. The game world is also very low poly,a few trees scattered around and pretty much a dead world, because they want the game playable for all low end PC's.F2P rely on quantity of players, they bank on a % of total players to draw money from, they do not care about quality of players at all.
