I used to play the game a lot a while ago but i got kinda bored and stopped, however it was insanely fun while it lasted.

funny story, i tried out a trainer for single player in a 2v2 game, and my NPC ally apparently got affected by it too so he had unlimited resources, and conquered 75% of the board with his fleets of a thousand ships each

too slow and litte interaction.  But here is not the game, but the way It play it (I am a turtler on some strategy games)

Sins is a tiny gem, and the expansions seems awesome.  Swords has his own personality, the battes on Swords have this scale thing... that are interesting.   Sins looks tome more like a "Pets" game, because the size of the galaxy is like 8x8 stars.. (?). Both are cool and good games.
