So which platform do you use most for gaming? Are you hardcore PC? Hardcore console? Or are you a little bit of both?
Personally I'm sorta a little bit of both. When it comes to MMOs and most online games, I go for the PC. Although when it comes to most offline games and some online mulitplayer modes, I go for my XBOX 360. I try to balance it as much as I can.
When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!

I would pick consoles for everything except MMOs and RTS and well that's it really just MMOs and Rts.
With a console I don't need to worry about upgrading my graphics card every two years.
Oh I forgot about players mods, I love player mods but that still puts PC gaming at the disadvantage for me.
More games on a Console, better graphics and stability if you don;t want to spend cash on new hardware every year or two.
Such a lopsided argument, I feel bad for PC gaming tbh.
Playing: EvE, Ryzom
I will only use the PC
Consoles died for me after the original Nintendo.
Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.

PC for everything but i try and get as many story games (play through once or twice with epic storylines e.g Assassins Creed, GTA IV) and sport games that i can for my PS3.
Any shooters, RTS's and RPG's that require more than 1 action bar of abilities i always grab on the PC. Personally i would love to see more MMO's release on the consoles as it would make grinding much more comfortable.
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
I play PC the most and for only one reason only a mouse and keyboard.Other than that I like everything else on a Console system. If only they would make it to where I could use a real PC keyboard and mouse, and no I do not like the Console keyboards,or the Blackberry style keyboards and they have yet to add mouse functionality so looks like I will still be a PC gamer.
Consoles for everything except mmos at the moment. On a console I don't have to worry about system requirements, I can trade my old games in for new ones and I can still play multiplayer online. The only thing pcs have advanatges are the graphics and pointing and clicking with wasd seems easier to learn compared to a controller.
Consoles for pretty much everything except when I play MMORPGs or random browser based games.
?
All PC for me. A lot of console games look awesome and my son is starting to make noises about Christmas but I use my PC for a lot more than gaming so the extra outlay never made much sense for me. Console gaming peaked for me with the Atari 2600 and a joystick. Haven't really been able to get back into it since then.
There is NO miracle patch.
95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

PC.
As far as I'm concerned, consoles do not exist.
I would agree 100% with this. I used to be one of the PC elitists before I got an Xbox 360 for my sons for Christmas last year. I originally got it with the purpose in mind of giving them something to play games on so they would stop pestering me for my computer all of the time. Then I started to play on it and realized what a total ass I had been about console gaming all of those years. The current generation of consoles haven't just closed the gap between PC and Console gaming... they have totally obliterated it. Now I buy all of the high end games for the Xbox and use my computer for other things. I spent $300 for the Xbox and saved myself about $700-$1000 in computer upgrades this year. Now I can still do all I want to do with my current computer and I can still play all of the current games.
One story I have is with Oblivion. I've had Oblivion since it was released on my PC. Recently my sons wanted it for the Xbox so I gave in and went out and bought it. At first I thought it couldn't possibly compare to the mouse and keyboard controls of the PC so I was hesitant to play it myself. When I did start playing it I found the controller to be strange at first but got used to it within an hour of play. Now I'm just as accurate with the controller than I ever was with the mouse which surprised even me. The only thing the PC version really has over the Xbox version is the player MODs but I only really miss 2 of them. Open cities and Saddlebags were a great addition to the PC version but the more I play it on the Xbox the more it doesn't really matter to me.
Console gaming is every bit as good as PC gaming and even has the edge on it a little bit. The fact that you don't have to worry about system specs when you purchase a game gives it that edge. The hardware gap has closed and with the next generation of consoles I have no doubt the console will far surpass the PC for gaming. All of you elitists had better get used to the idea as it's definitely coming... I know how hard that can be to believe as I used to be one of you but I realized how outdated you all are and smartened up.

I really wish this petty and childish argument would stop. Really. Games are games, no matter what system its on. Your personal preference is irrelevant.
Top that off with the consoles are getting more capable, and, in some cases more powerful that PCs, the really is little difference anymore.
There isn't anything you can do on a PC that you cant do on the newer consoles.

I first started my gaming on the consoles when I was younger. When I was able to buy my first PC I started looking at games I could play on that and over the years I found I went back to each one for periods of time. Usually a lot of good things came out for the consoles and so that would grab your attention more then something really good would hit the PC and you go to that for a period of time.
As I get older I find that I am enjoying playing and staying on the consoles more and more. I just don't have the energy to update my computer as much as I used to and with PC gaming you sometimes run into moments where you have hardware issues. MMO's are what I play on the PC when I have time but honestly it is way to hard to be able to put the time into them.
I am more and more into solo gameplay and according to some I am some stuck up guy with social issues that I don't want to group up. But you put in more than 40 hours a week at work, tend to what needs to be done in life and what ever sleep use up, gaming is what I like to do.
If I was young again I would be enjoying gaming way more but each method of gaming can fit into many types and instead of focusing on why each one is better or worse, each one offers something different and it is up to the user to decide if that fits their style.
You see much less where games are just for one platform as the money is doing them all and reaching as many players as you can. So Ill spend my limited time playing something rather than trying to sell others the idea on why one system is bettter than the other. Without diversity, things would be very boring.
After N64 I was only playing on PC. Since some time I own a PS3 and now I like both (PC for MMO & RTS, PS3 for RPGs). Its nice to play on the couch sometime, also because my TV is so huge *gg*
Honestly I don't know why people VS the two. I'm both Console and PC. Sometimes I would rather respect somebody for being a gamer rather than being a fanboy to take side and defend.

If I still had my 360 I would be playing it. But I use PC's for mainly MMORPG, MMORTS and a few FPS because I just seem to be much better at FPS in the PC then in console. PC's do have many disadvantages such as the constant upgrades where consoles do not require this. But, I do love the PC a lot more. It just feels right being on it ^^
I didn't start this thread to create an argument. I started it to see who uses PCs, who uses consoles, and who uses both. Not to say one is better than the other. Maybe putting "vs." in the thread title was a bad idea. Maybe I should have just put something like"Do you use a PC or a Console for Gaming?". I don't know, sometime I wonder why I even bother visiting any forums anymore. Seems like hardly anyone can have a mature conversation anymore. So please lets keep it civil, or I'll ask a mod to delete the thread. Thank you in advance.

this.
Ok I play Both... I have 360 and a PS3, as well as my PC.
On PC your tend to be able to do more All do to the Keyboard and Mouse combo, plus the be able to use Joysticks and controllers. Plus you can customizes controls better on PCs.
FPS games play great on both, PCs and Consoles.
It's really down to personal preference, on those.
I found I do better on PC with Shooters, and they tend be a little better.
Example, by what I mean better:
COD4 on PC, can support more players on a server than the console,
Also you can lean with Q and E in it... which is lacking in console version, just because they didn't have room on the controller for it.
I aim better with a mouse (or in my case a trackball) then I can the analog sticks.
Now I give the 360 the edge on FPS games just because the controller feels better for them, but I still perfer the PS2/3 over that bulky thing from everything else.
Action, sports and fighting games are far better on consoles.
... this kinda strayed away from where I meant to go with this.
Anyway both are great, and have great games, but as you can tell I lean more to PC.
But without consoles I would not have been any to enjoyed some real Gems, like:
Okami, Chrono Trigger, Golden Eye 64, Conker's Bad Fur day (N64 version) and the Final Fantasies.
I'm a gamer, if there's a game on it, I am gonna play it.
Current Games:
Consoles, PCs, Handhelds ... hell ... Card games and Board games ...
I'm a gamer, it doesn't matter to me how I get my gaming ... as long as I get it .

i am into a pc gaming and i love playing my mmorpg Atlantica online but sometimes i always getting dc, anyway maybe its my internet connection and sometimes i play some console games too...
Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu player
PC, all the way.
The only time I touch a console is when I'm playing a Wii with my son. But TBH, most of the time when we game together, it's PC games...either taking turns on something like Transformers 2, or some co-op or DM over the LAN.
Yeah, there's a lot more games available for consoles, but most of them are cheap garbage titles simply designed to milk teens out of their allowance.
PCs just give you so much more freedom in a game. I'm also a big RTS fan and you just can't manage well enough with a mouse and keyboard. If I had to get a console though it would be an xbox 360 for all the online stuff.
Free MMO Games
I'm into both, just as long as I have time to spare. When I'm in the office I play facebook games. At home, I'll play PC games, when I'm going anyway outside I'lll have my nintendo DS.
PC for RTS and MMOs/RPGs (Though some 360 only RPGs I do play). Console for things like UT3. Man I love UT3 on console, i suck with mouse + kb on fps'.
