Gotta love it
Funcom anounces an expansion to their game and Famine locks a bunch of threads Granted, the threads were pretty much from the same guy, but mostly what he was doing was quoting from the expansion information......
What a whack job of a company.

Oh you mean that there is an official thread for its discussion: forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php
Which was deemed so before the poster made multiple attempts.
C'mon have some sense..
The question is, will this expansion be a sizziling steak or a dry old hotdog? After one year they still haven't fixed sieges, and a plethora of new bugs has popped up, but they've been spending subscribers cash on making a new expansion! Way to go scumcom, another excellent decision straight from the John Smedley guide book to PH41L!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Im not sure when they are releasing this, but it will be in a totally different MMO climate than the one we have today.
That's why this is going to happen.
Once the Xpac is released, (or shortly before release) FC will announce AoC will go F2P.
But if you want the Xpac you'll have to buy it.
I can guarantee this.
Since trials failed big time per xfire it seems like a pay to play expansion will be utter failure. They didn't raise level cap but Funcom can not afford to have people playing the first expansion for free.
The one thing that may give the company quarterly profitability(they are never getting the 33 mill for original release or the X dollars in X pac back) is firing a bunch of Funcom employees after the expansion comes out, which they will do, and it will give me tears of joy.
Funcom has reviewed all of its assets relevant for
impairment testing. This process has led to
recognition of an impairment loss of around
3,1 MUSD for Age of Conan due to a decrease in
numbers of subscribers for the game. Funcom Q4 10 report.

Some members of this forums are honestly pathetic, you guys must have no life if all you do is bash a game all day and to say you will have tears of joy if funcom looses employees well its disgusting.
Back on topic, they were closed because the official thread was opened.
And because the poster was trolling by opening many threads just to state his disdain for the game.
Before the 4 thread were closed started by this person, another 3 were closed a day or two before. Have some common sense. Of course your hatred for this game probably clouds your common sense.

Looking forward to seeing this being proven undeniably wrong
I'm sorry sir, but if the idea of employees being fired for a company/game that you don't like brings you tears of joy, then you need to serious reconsider your life..
