Lord Pall, strange and interesting parallels

Many of us know that Dan Rubenfield was the lead dev on the NGE. Some of us know that he went by the name of Lord Pall. Out of curiosity I looked up "pall" in the dictionary today. What I found struck me as ironic:
"Pall(1): (1) A heavy cloth covering as of velvet, for a bier or coffin. (2) A coffin. (3) A gloomy atmosphere or effect.
Pall(2): (1) To be or become dull, boring, or tiresome. (2) To satiate:jade."
Lol, how appropriate did that turn out to be?

wow, i left SWG before NGE but that's kinda funny, i had a few friends that went through it, they would have a good laugh at this.

^_^ and that's what it's all about, looking back at the irony, and having a good chuckle. This really made me laugh:

Poetic almost lol.
Can I ask why it bothers you? You need to understand...a lot of us loved the game. Most of us didn't leave because we found a better game...we left for any number of reasons and almost every one of them is directly related to something SoE did.
Is the NGE here to stay? Sure. Does it mean we wipe all memory of the old game and stop comparing the various stages of SWG? Of course not.
The NGE was meant to be BETTER! Easier! Faster to design for, easier to balance, content would be the focus...um...has ANY of that happened? No...not even close!!! You could try to argue "content", but I'll point out that JtLS, Kashyyyk and Mustafar expansions PWN any content that's been added since NGE.
The sad thing is, SoE COULD STILL make money running the original game on a few servers (one even). What it offered, in terms of uniqueness, is still unmatched by ANY current or in development MMO.
So...while you think people should just "move on", maybe you just need to realize, they're simply telling people what they want...not "dwelling on the past" as so many seem to think.
