1. Blizzard will continue to support WoW and more expansions are on the way.
2. New mmo will be completely different from WoW and something players have not seen before.
3. On Battle.net you will have the option to play for free in regards to Starcraft 2 but there might be other things players will have to pay for if they want.
4. Microtransactions still up in the air but after reading, it is quite possible Blizzard will explore this business model.

Ofcourse but according to Mr Sams it isn't. Those are not my words, those are his. You just have to read it. All I did was give a few quick notes about the article.
Right. I wasn't criticizing you.
I did read it, and there was nothing in it to make me feel optimistic. "Micro transactions are cool." Jesus!

And yet, since it's blizzard, they will make MTs so accepted. And the people that hate and scream and yell and bite, who also think the MT in wow are fine, will soon yell and scream and bite that MTs are the right way to go.
Exactly my thoughts. It will be ok for Blizzard to do this but not ok for anyone else and people will continue to gripe about rmt until Blizzard does it, then it will be ok. Gotta love the double standard just waiting to happen.
whatever blizzard do the fanbois will think its the greatest thing ever..blizzard will make micro transaction mainstream because all the wow fans will love it, I'm sure they will come out and say, "blizzards microtransactions are more polish than others"
If blizz does MTs they sure will be more polished.

HA! I am sure you are right, and this amuses me to no end.
"There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."
John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman

Holy crap.
You didnt just jump to that conclusion you sailed right over it.
He says that they might look into it if they make a game right for it and that automatically means you know exactly how people will react to it if it does happen.
So, if you know how the fans will react how about you tell us how the trolls will react. Im sure you have special insight into that.

It's just a shot at all the people that praise every single thing that comes out of Blizzard and there are plenty of those people.
Blizzard is the Hoover dam of MMO's blocking all the creativity and causing a drought. Until they start leaking none of us are going to see decent MMO's any more.
They weren`t decent BEFORE WoW. They were buggy, unpolished, and incomplete. WoW raised the standards. Too bad if other companies can`t match them.

As long as they don't charge a monthly fee at the same time, and sell overpowered items, I'm fine with MT. I'm not a fan of the route CO took with it. We'll see how it turns out for them soon, though.
<Mod Edited>
How has Blizzard blocked creativity in the genre? It's not like there was a ton of selection before WoW. Hell, the popularity of Eve Online is enough proof to show that creativity hasn't declined, it's just that people are no longer willing to settle for mediocre MMOs no matter how "different" they might be, like Darkfall for example. The bar has been raised. Ideas aren't enough if you don't execute them properly.
Blizzard is blocking creativity because they cave into the demands of the fans, bringing you the amorphous blob that is WoW in its current state. How many times are they going to say one thing and do a complete U-turn because they get a 50 page forum thread of whining fans who demand to do something which Blizzard say in many interviews and articles that they would never ever ever do.
Why would they do anything radical to their cash cow, why would they do something oh I don't know creative.
It will only take them 6 years to acknowledge that hey maybe we ought to give guilds an actual meaning to exist, 6 whole years and 3 expansions later for them to give players a reason to form a guild.
Any time another MMO company does something slightly cool, Blizzard copy it mostly wholesale. How does that not block creativity? This makes WoW look like a Frankenstein soup of nonsense, it has totally lost identity. It has got to the point now where WoW is copying bits of WoW-clones that are copying off bits of WoW, so much so that WoW itself looks like a WoW-clone of a WoW-clone. No-one really cares what are in these forums so I can say pretty much what I like *shrug*.

A shot or just fact ? Blizzard can make a stick person lego mmo and everyone who is a fan would praise it and say thats the best and most polished stick person lego in mmo history. So when Blizzard finally succumbs to RMT people won't whine and rant like they do with everyother company. It is the ultimate double standard, " Blizzard can run RMT business models but noone esle can't".
They weren`t decent BEFORE WoW. They were buggy, unpolished, and incomplete. WoW raised the standards. Too bad if other companies can`t match them.
Asheron's Call was neither buggy nor incomplete and every month brought a new content patch that furthered the story line and usually introduced new monsters, quests and items.
Nothing since has compared.
They weren`t decent BEFORE WoW. They were buggy, unpolished, and incomplete. WoW raised the standards. Too bad if other companies can`t match them.
MMO's are always incomplete, always expanding, forever tweaking this and that, forever trying to get the balance right. No MMO has release without bugs, even WoW has them today.
Why would everything before WoW or after be considered anything less than WoW? is it becuase it has millions of subscribers? or becuase you say so? and if WoW is the pinnacle of MMO gaming and the genre itself isn't going to improve then God help us all, becuase any monopoly is never good for business, it stunts innovation and creativity.
What a shame your so caught up in being so negative about the genre and failing to find the gems that are out there, if WoW is all you can come up with to find as entertainment all well and good, but don't preach your gloom to those of us who like to get out there and try other companies efforts, no matter if it's attracting thousands or just hundreds.
Yes it's Blizzards fault that they produce awesome fun games and everyone else produces complete shit. Blizzard tells them to hire no talent lying hacks, they force them to release their liquid manure in a box before it is even alpha worthy, and then EvIl Blizzard makes these fools hide under their desks while horeds of screaming consumers tera them a new one.
Evil Evil Blizzard
LOL

I doubt Blizzard would use MT outside of their current setup.. Stuff that doesnt effect the game in any form is fine. When you can buy items that help you in game is when its not ok. I just dont see them going that route since it risks a lot for little to no gain.
