Can anyone please direct me to a new mmo?
I have been looking for a new good mmo to no avail.
I used to play WoW. I quit and returned twice. And I may end up going back
if I cant find anything new and interesting to me. x_X
I'm basicly tired of grindfest. I used to love those kind of games. They usually start out fun.
But now they just seem extremely monotonous and boring. I've been looking for a game that
can still have a character development system that is fun to spend time on. Yet doesnt resort to
the standard endless monster killing spree.
I don't care if the game is F2P or P2P. Nor if the graphics aren't the best. Just as long as the
game isn't another WoW / EQ Clone, and always has something new and exciting around
each corner of the game.
[Some Games I have played in the Past that I truly enjoyed]:
Mabinogi , La-Tale, MapleStory, EQ, WoW
All of em' are pretty much grind games. But I particularly loved the art styles of the
games up to maple. EQ and WoW I loved more because they more depth and
better Content / Game play. If I could merge those factors into a non grind game,
that would be my dream MMORPG.
Is there anything remotely like that in this world?

It sounds like you looking for something thats more PVE then PVP that being the case I would suggest Asherons Call or Lord Of the Rings Online if you want something with better visuals. If you are looking for PVP either EVE or Darkfall, these days these games can't be beat in terms of fun.
Blizzard uses WOW to harvest hours played into bottles so that the dev team can remain immortal
Don't know if you have a PvP or PvE interest, but Mortal Online (another game I had followed) is currently in Beta but touts to lack the typical grind. It's going the sandbox route and will have ffa, full-loot pvp with one or two restrictions and then a flagging system integrated. No levels, entirely skill based...supposedly primary skills will take only a handful of weeks to max out (secondary will take longer). In short, player skill will be more important than character skill, and it won't take you long to be able to try going toe-to-toe with older characters. PvP is certainly not supposed to be the only focus, but it's a big feature I think you'd have to be aware of going in.
I am in the same boat as you, might try Champions Online, but the instanced part doesn't appeal as much. I have been playing Lord of the Rings Online since Feb, and it's a pleasant surprise compared to other games I have tried. The deed system the have adds a little more to the monster killing, the quests give you great xp and crafting is actually worthwhile. Originally the beat killed it for me and felt awful compared to WoW at the time, but I gave it a chance this year and loved it. If you want I can send you a free trial to test it out.
Well i tried Warhammer Online again but yet again it only took me a few days to get bored and see how repetitive it was. Cancelled my sub and uninstalled it. Aion and Champions are options but those I tried in beta and nothing was that appealing to get me to buy the game. There was always Fallen Earth but I really do not wish to waste my money ona game that lags to no end. So there is always Global Agenda and Jumpgate Evolutuon. I have no idea what these 2 games are doing these days but there seems to be no set release date for either one. We all need new mmos but the best ones will not be until 2010-2011. So I think it will be a long waite before anything really good releases.
If you dont like grinding mobs then DDO is a good option since you dont even get XP from killing mobs, only get XP from completing objectives in dungeons. Also have the most complex character custimization in any MMO I have tried. Its a very group heavy game and completly instanced so maybe you wont like that.
Will have a Free to play option starting on 9th september.
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
