You don't need to worry about combat and animations. The video was taken back in April with very early version of our engine and combat system. Based on the feedback by our fans, we decided to make a lot of improvements in the combat system of Earthrise and right now it feels much better. We were not working on animations at that moment, and to be honest we did not expect such a negative reactions about them because the focus of the movies was on gameplay, not graphics. The main reason is that part of our plans is to have state of the art animations upon release and are not worried at all about them, you will see that improvement when we release new videos in the future.
All points Bulletin will feature 100 players on each map with TRUE twitch based gameplay combat, as opposed to hypocrite fake twitch based combat.
Planetside featured hundreds of players in the first MMOFPS game.
Neocron did it many years ago.
Chronicles of Spellborn recently released did it and proved it can be done.
Maybe Earthrise will launch with the artificial - forced - induced - fake - cooldowns requiring the player to wait for the server to register everything, with no real manual to aim (without fake auto/lock targets) or avoid bullets strafing, or no real bullet phisics and ability to cover, no jump, crouch, prone functionality either...
The combat gameplay is indeed a wow clone, you cant deny it. It cant even be called an hybrid FPS.
Dont use the argument that FPS cant be mixed with RPG also. It can be done in single player games, multiplayer games or MMOs. Noone Lives Forever did it, Mount and Blade did it (check the warband beta multiplayer videos on youtube), Hellgate London did it and soon Fallen Earth will be released. And no idiots, Im not talking about scale here, Im talking about mixed genres working together now.
It can be done, the truth is that the devs are going for the cheap route and trying to hide it while trying to benefit from the false advertising. Its our duty as members of the community to come here and tell people the truth so they can make an informed decision.

You know nothing about ER's combat. In fact, no one has the full picture as they are revising it to make it faster paced after the negative reactions to the original vids. Stop trolling and wait for solid info. ER has had manual aim from the very beginning, you've always had to point at your target. They have specifically stated that they have removed and reduced many cooldowns. You're whining about something past and gone. As for bullet physics and alternate firing positions, the devs have made it clear this was an RPG with some FPS elements from the very beginning. Don't start whining because it isn't some other game. The combat gameplay is indeed a wow clone, you cant deny it. It cant even be called an hybrid FPS. The combat was never, ever anything like Wow's. There was never hard lock, never auto attack, and the abilities function much differently. Dont use the argument that FPS cant be mixed with RPG also. Fail troll is fail. If you go read up on the latest info (check the sticky), MastHead Studios have responded to the negative feedback from the original vids and are making major changes to the combat system. They have not falsely advertised anything. In fact, they have stated this game is an RPG from the very beginning. They have hidden nothing. You have read one or two threads, made some false assumptions and decided to troll. GTFO.
