It just feels like this in gaming as a whole atm..regardless if your a console player or a MMO gamer..
Right now, it's like all the previous great games have been played to death/got old.. so right now in both worlds it feels like everyone is either waiting for the next CoD to hit, or waiting for a good MMO.. I've been passing time by renting single player games 'n beatin them on 360, but i'm even gettin sick of that.
Anyone else feel like we are in a gamer depression?

I think we're in that period of the year where it's economical for publishers to hold off a big release until holiday season. Having said that, it's not all that dry on the MMO scene. Champions Online was just released, Aion and Fallen Earth are about to be released soon, and CitiesXL is less than a month away.
As for the non MMO titles, we have to wait for those juicy holiday months of November and December. Then we get CoD: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Assassin's Creed II, Avatar and The Saboteur.
All the MMO titles u listed are Weaksauce tho.. =P
even the non-mmos you listed don't seem like grade "A" material. Left For Dead 2 is mainly for online players (if it's like the first one) and I only play single player games. CoD is a series I've yet to play. Saboteur and Avatar look like little more than variations of standard of FPS or 3rd person action games. How good will Assassin's Creed 2 be? The first one had an average score of 7.6 on IGN for instance.
I bet Dead Rising 2 will be plenty of fun though. It says it will be released Q1 2010. It boasts 7000 zombies at once.
Hopefully one of the rpg-action games turn out good like Risen, Dungeon Hero, or Dragon Age Origins.
I have a hard time playing single player games.. it's the whole idea of everything i face bein AI controlled makes it boring for me.. unno what it is.
It's almost like so many game companies are only in it for the quick buck now days.. and most of the ones that are actually tryin to make a good game, just don't get what it takes.
Take Gears of War for example.. Gears of War 1, had awesome multi-player and it was by mistake.. Epic wasn't even gonna put multi-player in the game, but tossed in simple multi-player the last second and it turned out to be awesome due to it's simplicity but high skill to master.. Gears of War 2 was a huge flop, b/c they actually tried adding more crap the multi-player that just ruined it.. It's almost like the first Gears of War was good by accident..
Just makes me wander how clueless these developers really are about what it takes to make a good game.
That's why Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 better not disappoint us because we've been waiting for their release since forever...
As for online games, I don't know which games to expect. I don't have any ideas about upcoming games that would be worth playing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
