RavkeenRavkeen Member UncommonPosts: 310

Version 1.99b is now available for testing on Pendragon.

===================================

Dark Age of Camelot

Test Version 1.99b Release Notes

Guild Transfer Commands

August 20, 2009

===================================

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- The /freexfer command is now available to all players on Pendragon.

- Players on Classic servers who are level 50 will be required to accept or complete the quest "Classic Transfer Gift" before using /freexfer. This quest is given by the Royal Accountant in the Capital Cities and gives special Master Level tokens which can be traded in to grant Master Levels 1 through 5 once players arrive on Ywain.

- Players transferring from Classic servers to Ywain will be able to visit the following NPCs to trade in the Classic versions of any of the new Dragon drops or Shrouded Isles chest pieces for the ToA version.

Trishy in Camelot

Brohd in Jordheim

Elenora in Tir na Nog

CLASS CHANGES AND FIXES

Necromancer

- Necromancer pets now keep up with the caster when the Necromancer uses a boat.

- Poisonspike now works on Necromancer pets.

- When a Necromancer pet is attacked, any illusion effects will be dispelled from the Necromancer.

- Necromancer's Holy Blessing will no longer heal the Necromancer's pet twice if the Necromancer is in a group.

CAMELOT CLASSIC WORLD NOTES

Hibernia Monsters

- Both members of the dergan caravan will now properly spawn near the dergan caravan leader in Lough Derg.

Items Notes

- The bounty point jewelry and cloak items sold at the border keeps are now tradeable.

- (Albion) The Robe of the Infidel is now correctly dyable with cloth dye.

- (Hibernia) All versions of Azureâ??s Folly are now dyable with weapon enamel.

TRIALS OF ATLANTIS WORLD NOTES

Item Notes

- The Artifact Credit and Master Level Credit tokens that can be purchased with bounty points are now tradeable.

- All Master Level final encounters will now drop a new type of currency called Atlantean Glass. This may be used to purchase tokens which can be turned in for a piece of Dragonslayer Armor or the player's Dragonslayer Weapon. The following NPCs accept the Atlantean Glass currency:

Trishy in Camelot

Brohd in Jordheim

Elenora in Tir na Nog

Note: A player will only have access to the Atlantean Glass store if they are level 50.

Note: Atlantean Glass is not tradeable.

COOPERATIVE SERVER

- The Trials of Atlantis bounty point merchants are now active on the PvE rule set.

Players should now be able to access Pendragon once again.

In addition, there has been some confusion about the new Atlantean Glass currency. Here is a more in depth explanation.

Only the Master Level .10 encounters drop Atlantean Glass. The amount that is dropped depends on the difficulty of the encounter with Cetus dropping the least and Phoenix and Draco dropping the most. The Glass will drop to each player in the Battlegroup who is within range of the encounter when it dies regardless of whether anyone in the Battlegroup needed credit. Please note that players will need to have the proper space in their bags to receive the Glass. The Glass stacks up to 250 units in a player's inventory. Atlantean Glass is not tradeable but can be sold to merchants

They are making stuff a little more easier on the new server can't wait.

Well, first off, your "poll" is pretty fail.  "HOW MANY will come back?"  "Yes, No, Maybe" ...  What kind of numbers are "Yes", "No", and "Maybe"?  ROFL

I'm not holding my breath about Ywain (to which all that character transfer stuff is refering).

The Atlantean Glass crap is just another way to let people have stuff they didn't earn.  That garbage needs to be removed from the game, and players that want Dragon Campaign items need to get off their lazy asses and do the Dragon Campaign.  It doesn't take very long, and there is even an official walkthrough posted for all three realms on the Herald.  Just want the Dragonsworn Manual for crafting?  There's a guide to that too.

DAoC needs bug fixes, not shortcuts to get free gear that's completely unrelated to how the gear is being obtained...  Atlantis has nothing at all to do with the Dragon Campaign, not as it was originally suggested by a player on the VN forums, and not as it was added to the game by the idea-stealing hacks at Mythic.  So I don't see why Atlantis (anything) is giving or allowing access to Dragon Campaign rewards.

I'll deifinately be giving it a try especially sincet hey have started to restaff the team, and im confident the people they are bringing it back really love that game

The core game is still awesome, and if you land in a decent guild of decent folks, the game is a thousand times better.  IF anyone actually pays attention to the quests and storylines, there's some good stuff there.  I honestly don't know many people anymore that aren't just "click click click", quest accepted, /region chat "Where/How do I do this quest!?" when the dialogue they just fast forwarded through just told them, and their quest journal repeats it.  (I've even been guilty of that myself, unless I'm in a Beta for a game.)

It's just hard to find decent folks nowadays...  Sure, people will seem nice for a while, but just keep your eyes on them.  It's a proven fact that when you first meet (most) people (irl anyway), they're on their best behavior for the first few weeks.  Once those first few weeks are past, in regards to DAoC players nowadays, their true natures come out and you see most are really just self-centered jerks.  Dark Age of Camelot cuts out a lot of that "nonsense" though, and most people go straight to being jerks.  They couldn't care less if you like them or not; they've got their buffbots and their IRL friend(s) playing the game with them, so who needs anyone else?

The "community" in DAoC is deader than the server populations.

I am so hoping this is the thing that brings some new life into DAoC.  I love this game still.

I think if they were to work on some of the mechanics of the game (I'm talking about how the characters move, the interface, etc) and update the graphics (NOT like a WoW clone again, with a unique art style) then this game would bring in tons of new players and old alike.

It is a good game.  A great concept with the 3 kingdoms RvR.  And I love the lore, it's the closest game to historical mythology I've found.  And this is the only game I've found where I find a sense of pride in my team and what's going on.

I hate buff bots, hate them.  I also hate the ToA artifact system.   The classic servers have apparently died (at least that's word on the street).   So the game that is available that might be fun to me is gone.  I love DAoC, but in it's current state I'll likely never sub again.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
