So... how come such little attention to Ranger? Doesn't anyone want to *pew*pew*pew* their way to vicroty... I do! No really, the Ranger looked sweet and its what I want, but the poll indicates a heart-felt "MEH!" to the Ranger class. Do the Beta players know something I should know about Rangers that is bad news or something? Please say it.
On the contrary, they become very powerful near end-game. A very popular class behind Assassins in Kaion. I'm sure a lot of people were put off by the 1-10 combat as playing the Rogue beginner class though.
Whatever, make a Ranger and pew pew pew to crush your enemies!

I'm going Cleric. I do find it interesting that so far in your poll cleric is leading. With tank second. Usually it's a dps class that leads.....interesting.
I suspect the poll is a little skewed. Assassins and Rangers are very low, yet all of us who have played pvp based games know that there will come a point where they are heavily represented.

most probably tried the ranger and saw how horrible they are at low levels. 10-16 you have a snare bow attack and 1 normal bow attack, makes for boring and rough leveling. 16 all you get is second chain skill to the first bow attack, 19 you get a second bow attack, 22 everybody's class gets a ton of abilities, 22 i think is the stigma skill for retreating slash. retreating slash stuns the mob and knocks YOU back 25 yards. ranger is ALOT of fun at level 20+ but before that they're rough, if you tough it out you'll enjoy the class.
problem with the ranger is they start out as a melee, and all classes keep getting those same starter skill upgrades through out their levels. where rangers should be getting their bow attacks at 13, they get an upgrade to that very first melee skill they have instead, wich is on the same cooldown as your 1 bow attack. the bow attack does like twice the dmg of your old melee skill so since you have to choose wich you're going to use, its not a tough one.
but i loved the ranger class this is deffinitly not busting on them, more of a heads up for those that want to play them. seem horrible at first but really shine and pay off if you can tough it out.
i think i'm going SM tho, played them on the korean test and the chinese server, its orginally drew me to the game in the first place. those pets look soo bad ass

yea ranger is the slowest leveling class in the game right now. As abyss610 said because they start as melee and transition into being a ranged class that transitional period is... painful

I've actually found this NOT to be true. The problem most people have is that they try and play the class right off the bat, catering to it's fewest number of skills, instead of using them all to their full potential. Pre-20 I played my ranger more like an assassin w/ a bow, than an actual ranger. I did a lot more DPS, and thus things died much quicker. I'd start w/ the bow, and after a round or 2 of bow attacks I'd switch to melee and toggle evasion, counter attack, backstab, and the other melee skills.
With 2 decent swords you'll be doing close to your bow's damage each attack, and will be able to attack much more often. Once you get 22+, you'll have enough bow attacks to cycle those non-stop though. Using this method I was able to lvl faster than most classes, with the exception of the SM and sorc.

I found this to be the case with the ranger in OB, but the class just didn't capture my attention. Gladiators can also use a bow and that was one of the many reasons I was attracted to the class, so giving it a try
From the poll is easy to understand people dont give a crap about Aion pvp.. the leading classes are all pve/solo classes.
Me ? Well Either Cleric or Templar aswel.. I do like the cleric ability to nonstop grind tho.. that will be important when levling the first toon to avoid getting ganked by higer level people after 20s.
Another important thing is clerics and templars always have a spot in teams.. in case you feeling very social or raid loot interested.
I bet if this was Lineage2 most would be rangers and assassins tho.. with some shamans.

I know what you mean. Just a heads up, though; Gladiators can use bows, yes, but they don't really use them for skillchains / etc. The most commonly used application of bows for the Gladiator class is to put slow stones into the bow and use it as a ranged snare (very useful).
The class rocks, but has limited CC, so the bow is used to make up for that. Not trying to deter you from an awesome class, just filling you in unless you already knew this.

Cleric or Chanter haven't decided yet.
It looks to me like people are picking classes that are strong soloers.
Primary money farming toon with secondary PvP toons?
I've heard a few classes are more costly to play.
Gladiator all the way!
Chanter elyos
Sin asmo
The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
Cleric
SM Baby !! Sweet AOE spells @ later lvls.
Character Nym on server Istaphel
Asmo sin and cleric
"I play Tera for the gameplay"
What's with all the heal bots?

This poll versus the servers
Poll(rounded up) Aion Servers (approx)
Sorceror 12% ~15%
Spiritmaster 11% ~8%
Chanter 12% ~11%
Cleric 19% ~16%
Assassin 9% ~12%
Ranger 8% ~10%
Gladiator 13% ~14%
Templar 16% ~14%

1.So did the melee DPS classes get a buff?
2. Do you think 8% if the minimum the site will show (its 8% across the board for Spiritmasters)
3. It looks like people shifted their opinion from Spiritmaster to Sorceror, is there a reason for this?
As far as I see there will be enough healers Thats a good thing.
Between the soilder & rouge class for me, cant make my mind up.
