I'll have to agree with Metalhead. The game itself is very stable, and easy to run. I get a constant 125 FPS where ever I go, generally. It's yet to drop below 60. As for the starting area, yeah. Meh. The experience is very linear and boring, and like most of the other Korean grinders I've played the quests are of the exact same... Outline almost? It seems like every game has to have some guy whose too shy to speak with a girl, then you've gotta pick up crates/grain, and then grind on things. There is the main quest line that takes you into becoming a Daeva but even those quests aren't very epic.
I'm also a little worried about the community, most of them seem like kiddie folk, and the guys who seem to be 'serious' about the game are acting like idiots in the provided channels. Hopefully that goes away in a few weeks when people decide this game isn't for them and they leave.
Pvp also isn't as fun as I'd hope it was going to be, on my new warrior that I had rolled I attempted to duel a priest. Spells don't stop even if you jump over them, etc. So they hit you no matter what. What I mean is, the player just seems to spin around with you and the spell instantly hits you, because I was trying to dodge and run up to him in order to get behind him to stop him from being able to cast every smite. That feature is pretty lame and should be taken out.
Stable game, but generic and gimmicky with the whole flight thing.
I'm judging it on what it is, not what it isnt, and I am loving it.
I also am not a wnigning newb who complains about things like server queues in a brand new game, because I understand the reality of the situation, and I don't cry and tantrum over some kill stealing, which I know is 80% due to the crowds and will die down.
Aion is offering me what is an incredibly well polished and realised social co-op traditional MMORPG with extra helpings of the most fun PvP I have experienced in a game of this type.
I actually kinda enjoy the starter levels (1-20). Granted, as soon as you enter contested areas and the abyss the game becomes far less generic and more enjoyable, I'd say the beginning of the game is no less enjoyable than WoW, at least.
The problem with WaR and AoC, was that they both had superb low-content game and sucked hard after later on.
And please keep it civil. I just want some honest opinions on game so far.
It's good. A little PvE heavy in the early lvl, should get better mid-lvl if you like pvp. Some classes are stronger at the low and mid lvls but will change at the higher lvls.
Servers: full, almost all of them are. If anyone wants to play please check around and find one with no queue lines or just wait until they open new servers.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Not as fun as I thought it would be. I do like that the quest numbers are limited. Instead of fetching 20 rat's tails it's more like 4-6, but it's still just a go kill and fetch quest.
I do love the cut scenes, though... And the way they tell the story with switches in time and place.
However, I was rather dismayed at the first mention of amnesia. That horse is dead and rotted away a long time ago, I don't get why developers are still beating it with a stick. I mean... I almost prefer the classic farmer girl out to discover her destiny over the amnesia stick. Almost.
The game itself is the smoothest I've ever played on launch, though. I haven't hit one single bug yet.
And I love the character generator. Amazing flexibility.

/shrug... AoCs lowbie 1-20 content was waaay over rated imo. It just felt like a solo RPG like the Witcher or something, not an MMO at all.
Not talking to you here Lowdos, but why do people come to a MMORPG that they know is a traditional quest based grinder on it's PvE side, which we all did with Aion, and then complain about it being just that? It's retarded.
What did people really expect at Levels 1-20 in a game of this type? It's pretty much just an extended tutorial to allow you to learn your character and the world, and it does that beautifully.
I don't think what happened is a mere amnesia, you don't lose your immortality by forgetting who you are. The story is fleshed out every 10 levels or so and I've only seen the Elyos side up to lvl 20 so far. No spoilers though, you'll see for yourselves.
With age I've grown into more of an exclusively PvP player and I simply cannot (or won't) enjoy the PvE thing this game relies so much on. I simply don't have the time to spend it on any game experience that isn't really intense and only PvP gives me that buzz. If I want a scripted story I'll read a book or maybe watch a movie. If I want a sense of accomplishment I'll go grind my garden or the dishes. They might have some kind of PvP "endgame" which is supposed to be fantastic but I wouldn't know - I won't play a game that forces me to "earn my right" to actually have fun. I believe I earned that "right" by purchasing the game.
That being said I can see this game to be really appealing to the PvE, "story" crowd. It's simply that I'm not one of those.
If they had some kind of PvP leveling enabled (like in WAR and now WoW) I would play it because it really is quite pretty and amazingly polished. However... this is the way things are now. I'll keep my eyes peeled for future changes tho. We might do business yet.
I'm enjoying the game. Already played it in beta so besides issues that may occur at endgame I pretty much already know what to expect with this game.
My only gripes are:
1) One starting zone that is linear in style so making alts in this game is really going to be a drag
2) Having to wait until around lvl 20 to really get into any PvP
3) Gathering from nodes is extremely tedious and obnoxious
4) No collision detection
Other than that I really enjoy the game. So glad I got a beta invite and said, "What the hell, might as well give it a looksie". I had no interest in this game before then.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
I've not played it yet but im surprised on the amount of honest opinion's you've all been giving, which is kindda worrying,
I don't know why. Seems to be about 50/50 in this thread. The level of honesty in this thread is rather refreshing besides the entry by the Lord of Caps Lock Halls.

Haven't really had a chance to play so far every time I log in I find myself in 3hr + queues and by time I get in its too late and I just log off for the evening.
I'm hoping that now people have to pay things will settle down a bit and I'll get some playing time.

Too early to tell for me. I'll have a better overview once the box month is almost over.
I made the mistake of picking the more popular race now have to deal with every Ex-wow player clogging up my chat.
As for the game it's half decent, Nothing I would sub to honestly.
The game has this feeling of rushing you toward the next zone which is typical of all themeparks. same old same old tbh.
Imo AoC had a better designed 1-20 starting area and WAR had a much more exciting 1-10 due to pvp.
Right now it rates below both WAR and AoC for starting zone in overall game mechanics but its better stability wise.
Once I get higher than 20 I'll let you know what I feel of the open pvp.
