Again you fail at reading and comprehension you do not have to have a credit card. You have choices it is your responsibility to make theese choices. notice it clearly says you can use a credit card ,paypal,OR a gamecard it does not say one is the preferred method they are clearly choices.If in fact this isnt the case then and only then do you have a legit gripe with ncsoft ,but so long as they clearly tell you what your options are it is entirely up to you the customer to controll your money.

To all the rude people in this Topic: I don't know how it's done in NA, but in Europe, especially Holland, it's NOT normal to have a CC. I'm 23, have a job, but there's no way in hell I'll ever get a CC (I live by the principle 'don't buy something if you can't pay it'). We're using PIN, paying straight from our bank accounts, even online by using iDeal. Most companies have adapted to this so the need for a CC is taken away more and more. So the OP is definately right in this regard. No matter what his reason is of not having a CC, it shouldn't be his problem. He's a customer; HIS needs should come first. So if he can't pay with a CC, he should have other options. He can use a gamecard, sure. But this DOES mean he will have to buy one besides the initial purchase of the box + the free month. As far as I know there is no free Game Card in the box to activate the account with a payment plan. the person would have to buy their own game card extra for the payment option. So it was not free. Only the usually 30 days free comes with the game box.

Actually the game card pays for the month following the free month. If you decide not to take advantage of that and quit early, it`s your own fault for not using the month that the card covers.

You can use gamecards if you want. Just buy a new one and apply it each month, and your credit card will not be used. You have to buy the gamecard to activate the game with it, obviously. And THEN you need to buy a new card to give you another month of play. You don't have to use your CC ever. And if you are too afraid to use your CC online, good riddance to you. If you aren't stupid enough to get caught in a phishing scam, you have nothing to worry about. And if you just don't like CCs on principle, you can use a debit card which takes money right out of your bank account.

If you did the same for WoW, then you should know exactly what's going on. As others have said, in order to get your free month mmos require credit card info first. If you take your credit card info off your account after the initial setup, then you'll get your free month without a recurring bill.
