Resident Evil 5 Ending. (spoilers)

greed0104greed0104 Member Posts: 2,134

So I just now beat the game after a few hours of play.

So here is my question (this is where the spoiler starts). With Wesker and Excella dead, is there even anything left to continue with to making another sequel or is this finally the end. I'm sure Capcom will do more restarts and spin offs . But for the main story I can't think of where they would pick up and move on further.

Resident Evil hasn't been a horror game for some time, I think the missing element is zombies. Over shoulder view kinda gimped the horror feel a bit to. The entire time I played Re5 or Re4, I never got that paranoid feeling, something I miss. Over all though RE5 was pretty solid. Had some intresting characters, thankfully not one screaming LEEEOOON HALP! every 5 sec.

Who knows? I'm sure Capcom wouldn't just give up on Resident Evil just like that considering how much money it makes.

I am simply myself, no more and no less. And I only want to be free.

It's no secret that Resident Evil 4 and 5 definitly sacrificed the Horror survival theme of the series for a more action approach. Resident Evil 4 wasn't scary but in my opinion, it still had a great atmosphere.

In Resident Evil 5, it's like Capcom isn't even trying to create a horror atmosphere anymore. It's still a fun game, but it's not as scary anymore. The biggest problems I had with Resident Evil 5 are the boring locations, Sheva and the forced cover system at the end of the game.

The game starts out really cool in an African village. It's both unique and refreshing in a sea of dark themed games. Unfortunately, the game quickly changes this setting for more generic video game settings such as mines, abandoned labs, ruins and industrial areas. Sheva is also rather annoying. I don't mind the inclusion of a partner character, but she just keeps wasting ammo in a game that requires you to be conservative with it. Why do I need to supply her with ammo? Why can't it be like Gears of War where your parner AI simply has unlimited ammo when there is no player controlling it?

The cover system is just poorly designed and unnecessary. Why do zombies need guns anyway? Part of the appeal of zombies is that they attack in a unique way with melee weapons while you hold them off with ranged weapons. If they are going to use guns, why not just scrap the zombie aspect all together and make it human characters like nearly every third person shooter out there? This part being near the end of the game only makes it worse. Resident Evil 5 is a game that gets worse the further you get. It starts out great with good gameplay and great locations, it then moves into generic areas and eventually it will force a cover system on the player near the end.

About the enemy, well I think they will come up with something. They could always introduce a new villain or perhaps even create a brand new storyline.

Its too bad, I thought Excella would be a good villain. I was sort of surprised to see how quickly they killed her off.

I've heard two rumors. The first is that they are going to focus on different storylines and characters during the same time periods as the other games. Wouldn't mind seeing what happened to Claire...

The second is that despite being thrown into a burning pit of lava from a plane and filled with bullets, Wesker lived.

My question is what the hell happens to Jill?

who said wesker is dead, they droped in a pool of lava and was STILL alive, and if u look with attention they missed the rockets on him so...

umbrela isnt gone for sure, tricell is still going on so theres plenty of plot for a world zoombie infestation :)

ps: blonde Jill, thats what i got pissed ¬¬

A Jill/Claire duo would make my day =)

ps2: and wth happend to Barry and his magnun? :/

Well perhaps that willl be revealed in the just announced Resident Evil 5: Alternate edition. Apparently the flashback where Chris and Jill enter the mansion will become playable.

I find the rocket missed argument rather poor, I keep hearing it all the time, These are rockets, they explode.

Do you honnestly believe Capcom is going to say in a next game "Hah Chris Redfield! You thought I was dead didn't you!? Well if you pay close attention to the ending of Resident Evil 5, you'll notice that the rockets missed me!"

Rockets and lava don't require precision.

yeah, but resident evil is not resident since 1, the silent mansion where every facking bullet has it time, place, and zombie craved on it. all became a predictable shooter, a good game, but not a good storyline.

According to the creators they are going to reboot the entire franchise, it's just a mater of finding a new Director, (which they stil dont have from there live show on Tokyo Game Show ).

A reboot most likely means new characters, new everything, tho something tells me Wesker is stil alive, lets face it. That guy never dies properly for once.

    And then there's this :

'' Resident Evil 5's producer Masachika Kawata has revealed that Resident Evil 6 could be in development for up to eight years.

"We haven't decided whether we're going to make Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years, but hopefully only four."

    and for the reboot

8 years holy shit. i would rather them not make another resident evil if its anything like RE5. while it was a good game, they totally screwed the survival horror out of it, and now its just another action shooter game. Resident Evil 2 will always be the best imo.

I enjoyed RE5, I know it wasn't as good as RE4 but I felt it was still a quality game.

I think the only problem I had with the game is when the zombie guys started wearing military shit and the game went from being a bit freaky and scary to being a tactical shooter lol.

Still cool to see old characters again.

Sheva wasting ammo was annoying. On the other hand I find the game more enjoyable that I have to supply ammo for both of us, it adds to that "survival" horror feel. Yes, I agree the cover system is a complete mess. I found it necessary rarely, example is the majini with the gatling gun, without being able to cover and fire this would have been near impossible considering the number of bullets that asshole took.

Excella was pretty interesting, but was not cut out to be a good villain. Attachment to Wesker spelled dramatic fail from the start for her.

The first rumor I can believe, Resident Evil Zero anybody?

The second I have doubts, I think Wesker is done without, bringing him back would be far to cliche. Also the cinematic for Weskers death is something like "The Fall of Wesker". He was a bad ass Villain, I think it was his time though.

I'm not sure what they plan to do with Jill, all I know is somebody at Capcom has some interesting plans for her.

Apparently it won't be for everybody >.>

Should add before somebody gets mad and says I'm posting porn, this is a screen shot taken from the game. Get the Jill figurine turn it down and you can clearly see her....it's up there.

I enjoyed both res 4 and 5 but yeah they need to go back to the roots of the game and make it a scary zombie survival game again. Problems i had with five is your constantly with a partner and the feeling of isolation like you had in other resident evil was gone, i liked the quick weapon switching but miss the item management like in 4, also the weapons dealer guy from 4 should of been in it he was awesome " what are yer, buyin"? "what are yer, selling"? he was great. I really thought he would be in res 5 lol. I hope the next one they do will be set in a overun city like res 3 with proper zombies and id like to see Ada Wong as a main char that would be awesome :P
