Stop buying mmo's the day they come out and wait a few months, these issues of server lag, Crashes , disconnection and so on have been brought up for every freaking launch to date and by now you should know what to expect.
Dont tell me about this '' oh its 2009 they should know by now'' Do you think they do this on purpose ? Its clear that if they could launch without any itch they would , no? Stop being fucking jerks and while you cant play , do something else, its not a life and death situation.
The situation is a lot better then it used to be, one of the great game, daoc lauched with no content above 40...0 CONTENT!!! World of warcraft had a terrible launch, far more worse than this one and its from a giant studio. Star Wars galaxies, You couldnt even log for the 24 first hours!
So please, im begging you, stop with these thread, they are trying their best to make it work.
Ps: Sorry for my bad grammar and sentences, english is not my primary language.

What about those MMOs that had almost flawless launches? For example LotRO.
Im glad for them! really lol ! but remember , they used DDO to test.... enough said
In most cases it boils down to the funds available. FE can't really be compared in that regard, this game has been in development for a long long time. It's in the hands of an indie team as well, you can't expect them to be in competition with someone like turbine it just isn't possible or plausible.

Perfection is hard to come by, but "relatively smooth" would suit me fine. A few MMOs I've been in which had relatively smooth launches are The Realm Online, Meridian 59 and Neocron. There are others I haven't played but friends have reported fairly smooth launches. Unfortunately the number of titles released that are miles away from being ready seriously outnumber the relatively smooth launches.
I don't mind the smooth(ish) launches, I know full well that asking for a perfect launch is unrealistic!
I plan on supporting the game and buying it soon. I tested the beta. I liked it. Not all MMOs have perfect launches.

I completely agree. My comment wasn't directed at FE per se but how the OP painted a broad stroke regarding all MMOs.
Might also be depending on the number of people in these launch, the realm online...meridian 59 ...neocron... compare to FE?
I'm not trying to defend them, im just trying to be objective.
Why do people complain about complainers? I think its wrong to not be able to log in and not play. In game issues bahh they will get worked out. This stuff should have been worked out before it went live. Don't care to much about this game or that game, those were then and this is now. Hardware has advance a lot from them days.... hummmm maybe that is where eves old equipment went.......
My opinions on this:
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
wow, payroll much?

What he said is absolute truth and reason.
If you expect a clean and perfect launch.. then you live in cloud cuckoo land.
Oh and by the way i gained access to the FE game world far quicker then i did for LOTROL, for those who think LOTROL had a flawless launch, it took me over 2 hours to register my account, so not so perfect i am afraid.
Most people know that no mmo launches perfectly, does that dont know this are more or less "noob wow only players", who ultimately will find FE to hard anyways and will leave the game anyway, so there is not much to worry about really.
I don't know of any software, in any industry - not just gaming, that works perfectly out of the box. I work in telecoms and I guarantee you that when the equipment vendor launches new equipment or has a major software upgrade it never works the same in a live network as it does in the lab. There always crashes rollbacks and multiple patches before they get it right, if they ever do.
mmo players include some of the most self-entitled whiners on the planet, so good luck with getting them to stop.
this was the first weekend after release of an mmo by a small developer. i'd expect some growing pains. if it's still that bad in a couple months, whine then...
wow, payroll much?

We're complaining jerks because we've paid so much money to play the game in the first place. If studios which to test out the product on retail they should atleast give everyone a free trial period with some forewarning. Don't charge everyone £30 or $50 in the first instance and expect understanding when it goes wrong.
They don't get any sympathy from me and all their players deserve an apology and recompense.
By the way. I think it will end up being a good game, but I stand by what I've said before about this recent launch.
You do get a free month in all MMOs. What you think that is for?
And £30 for a game you will play for a year, if you like it, is nothing, 8pence a day for a year. Cheaper than a night out.
It is not as if the companies that produce these games are rolling in our money is it?
You stand by what you say, oh yeah, about this launch and all previous launches and all the ones to come, you will soon get tired and sit down, as it will not change soon my friend.
Point being that no MMO will release flawlessly, if it does then it is definitely not the norm. Most producers are not even thinking about the release, they are thinking about making their game survive in the first year. Look at WAR, on real shakey ground at the moment and you we all know what happened to Tabula....
Refusing to excpet that MMOs will release buggy and incomplete is like hitting your head against a brick wall and it will not change in the near future i am afraid, just accept it, if you dont like it dont buy brand new MMOs, rather simple really.
AC2, LOTRO, WAR, EQ2 and WOW were all great launches. I was there for all of them. I might even be missing a few games that had launches that went just as well. Its idiotc to try to justify poor launches.
I know some trolls try to claim WOW didn't have a smooth launch, but you could play. The only problems I had were the loot lag, and had to restart on a different server a couple of times due to queues. Didn't stop me from playing, though.
try Aion with its 7 hour log in queues
and that's by a major developer, with a game that's been out in Asia for a year already
Exactly why I won't be trying it. If they can't even get that corrected in the week they've been launched I doubt very much they will be able to provide a game that will be worth playing long term.
Maybe its because I came from SOE,(EQ) but I refuse to play any MMOs who don't put players first. SOE used to shit on its customers, and took us for granted. They are no longer the king, 2nd or even 3rd place. They only have themselves to blame not WoW. They drove us away by not caring if we were happy. My point being if you operate any business based off customers you must make the customer happy. Its not an option. Anything less, and you fail. Just look at all the MMOs that have had poor launches. They are doing horrible. I don't think that is a coincidence.
Yep. That's one reason I'm waiting for a month or two. The other reason is to let all the free-month-spastics make their exit, so most of the people left will just be people who enjoy the game.
Then I'll give it a try.
Playing | GW2
Wanting | Pantheon
Watching | Crowfall
Retired | WAR, Cabal, MO, CO, SHK, WoW, FFXIV: ARR

What free month? £30 for the download and then it's about £15 a month subscription. Sorry I accept crap when I'm paying for the privledge. Also I will not accept being called a jerk and being treated like a jerk when I complain about it. I'm the customer for crying out loud. This seems to be the only industry that has a hostile attitude towards it's customers. No wonder people start dropping out of games eventually. It's not boredom, it's being alienated from the studio's customer service!
